On the plans, everything looked perfect (Those little things #2).

Dobro jutro blessing! Good morning intercessor! May the LORD reward your humility and patience. May he establish you in your nation and may your descendants possess its gates. May the angels who escort you fully exercise their ministry.

Look through me, O God, and know my heart. Try me and know my thoughts. See if there is any sinful way in me and lead me in the way that lasts forever. (Psalm 139:23-24)
" Careful planning puts you ahead in the long run; hurry and scurry puts you further behind." (Proverbs 21:5, MSG)

I can't count how many times I've relocated during my studies. Both in Cameroon and in France. I moved almost every year. Either the residence closed during the university vacations, or I immigrated to another country, or moved to another region to do an internship.

When I finished my studies, I wanted to borrow money to buy an apartment. But for me, it wasn't the right time. First, I had to grow in wisdom and discernment, put my finances in order, learn how to invest, and get the HOLY SPIRIT's approval. There was a new real estate program that particularly interested me. It was a program to build new apartments 🙂 On the plans, everything looked perfect. The building is on a shopping street, within walking distance of a shopping center and a tramway station. Underground parking, beautiful balconies, soundproof walls, and closed or separate kitchens for those who wanted them. Ignorant as I was, I thought living in such a building would be pleasant. I almost envied the future owners. I had no idea of the risk of noise pollution and air pollution. It's one thing to have a balcony, it's quite another to be able to enjoy it.

Every time I broached the subject with the HOLY SPIRIT, he'd say to me: "It's not the right time for you yet. In any case, I've made better plans for you. First, you need to grow in wisdom and discernment, put your finances in order, and learn how to invest. " I'm not going to lie to you when he told me this I wasn't happy. I was frustrated. I continued to broach the subject until I understood that the desires of my flesh, cannot charge the will of GOD.

Three years later, the apartments were delivered. Total disappointment. The building was delivered months late, with numerous defects. Incorrect circuit breakers, cracked parquet flooring, unassembled kitchens, poor-quality paint, unfinished balconies, water leaks, etc. Repairs have been made. But, as I write this article, two years after the delivery, the balconies are still not finished and, from the outside, you can see the paint peeling off the balconies. I let you imagine how the buyers feel.

I'm so grateful to GOD for not allowing me to buy an apartment in that building. Oh yes, GOD is good all the time, and when he says no, it's to protect us. His blessing enriches and is followed by no sorrow (Proverbs 10:22) 🙂 Every time I pass that building, I thank him for not hearing me. Like David, I say, "Examine me, O GOD, and know my heart; test me and know my thoughts! See if I am on a wrong path and lead me in the way of eternity!" (Psalms 139: 23 -24).

May this testimony encourage you to obey GOD. Trust him. Obey and persevere. For GOD makes all things work together for good to those who love him ( Romans 8:28). Remember that it is written, "Therefore do not forsake your confidence, which has great reward. Yes, you need perseverance (patience) to accomplish GOD's will and thus obtain what is promised you." (Hebrews 10:36).
