Ailèhoh wife of Christ ! God morgen gift of Christ ! Neither did Elijah force or beg the widow of Zarephath to give him her bread (1 Kings 17:8–16). She gave it to him willingly because she knew that God would provide. Before leaving, Elijah made sure that she had enough food. Elisha asked nothing of the prophet’s widow (2 Kings 4:1–7). He refused Naaman’s money (2 Kings 5:1–16). Do not eat the widow’s bread if you do not care what she will eat tomorrow. Do not ask for an offering every time you prophesy. God is not a beggar. Do not accept every gift. ❖ (Psalms 68:6, NKJV) : A father of the fatherless, a defender of widows, Is God in His holy habitation. ❖ (Deuteronomy 15:6, NKJV) : For the Lord your God will bless you just as He promised you; you shall lend to many nations, but you shall not borrow; you shall reign over many nations, but they shall not reign over you. ❖ (2 Kings 4: 1-7, NKJV) : " 1 A certain woman of the wives of the sons of the prophets cried out to Elisha, saying, “Your servant my husband is dead, and you know that your servant feared the Lord. And the creditor is coming to take my two sons to be his slaves.” 2 So Elisha said to her, “What shall I do for you? Tell me, what do you have in the house?” And she said, “Your maidservant has nothing in the house but a jar of oil.” 3 Then he said, “Go, borrow vessels from everywhere, from all your neighbors—empty vessels; do not gather just a few. 4 And when you have come in, you shall shut the door behind you and your sons; then pour it into all those vessels, and set aside the full ones.” 5 So she went from him and shut the door behind her and her sons, who brought the vessels to her; and she poured it out. 6 Now it came to pass, when the vessels were full, that she said to her son, “Bring me another vessel.” And he said to her, “There is not another vessel.” So the oil ceased. 7 Then she came and told the man of God. And he said, “Go, sell the oil and pay your debt; and you and your sons live on the rest.” 3. Elisha's words and the oil (2 Kings 4:2-7) In the first verse of our text, it says that the widow spoke to Elisha. He, on the other hand, did not shout. He was kind. This is worth noting, given his temperament. It leads me to believe that the prophet Elisha truly held this widow’s husband in high regard. I think he was truly a good person. You don’t address Elisha by shouting unless you have a covenant with him. Elisha had cursed some young men who were mocking his baldness (2 Kings 2:23-24). After his words, two bears came out of the forest and tore the 42 young men to pieces. Forty-two teenagers died after mocking Elisha. He certainly wasn't the kind of prophet you could talk to carelessly. What were their parents doing? Did these young men usually make fun of their elders? I'm not condoning Elisha's reaction. I just want to make sure you learn lessons from this story, not just get emotional. According to some rabbis and the historian Flavius Josephus, this woman was the widow of Obadiah (1 Kings 18:7–15), the steward of King Ahab’s palace (Jezebel’s husband). He hid 100 prophets in two caves and fed them during the time when Jezebel was having the prophets of the Lord killed. Elijah had spared his life when he was sent by Ahab to bring him to the palace. According to the Targum (Aramaic Bible), Obadiah had borrowed money to feed the prophets. So this woman was the widow of a national hero. Her husband wasn’t in debt because he mismanaged his finances. He borrowed money to save lives. Surely, before the incident with the 100 prophets, she lived in material comfort. She may have already sold her jewelry and personal belongings. I wonder if the 100 prophets ever thought to help her financially in return. I wonder if they were aware of her financial difficulties. I understand why she cried out to Elisha. Her husband had fed 100 prophets who were now serving Elisha. Elisha certainly knew her husband. Let’s remember that not everyone who gives to others and for others is necessarily well-off. Just because someone doesn’t complain and gives whenever asked doesn’t mean they don’t have needs of their own. We must not take advantage of others’ generosity. We shouldn’t wait for them to speak of their problems before showing gratitude or repaying the money we owe them. If the person to whom you owe money has died, repay your debt to their heirs. It is written, “Cursed be anyone who deprives the foreigner, the orphan, and the widow of justice!... ” (Deuteronomy 27:19) 🙂 By extension, blessed is the one who upholds the law, administers justice, and acts with integrity toward the widow and the orphan. Elisha asks her what she expects from him. He takes the time to listen to her. He doesn’t act as if he knows everything. He assesses the situation before proposing a solution. He waits for God to speak to him before he speaks. The widow, knowing that Elisha was very busy, got straight to the point of her problem. She didn’t start with a lot of small talk. She didn’t tell Elisha that he was the greatest prophet, and so on. 🙂 I don’t understand those who want us to sing their praises before they listen, speak, or do anything at all. Those who want us to say “Amen” a hundred times! These people who crave flattery. These people who want us to tell them, “Prophesy, great man of God!” I’ll never understand these people. Elisha, in turn, is very direct. First, he asks her what she has in her house. Here is a wealthy prophet, asking a poor widow what she has in her house. Not only is Elisha wealthy, but he is also a prophet. Moreover, GOD works miracles through him. Elisha is a man respected and honored by many. He could have called the king and asked for a reduction in the debt. He could have asked the prophets to chip in to pay off the debt. For many people, when you go to a prophet like Elisha with a money problem, you’re sure not to come away empty-handed. In Elisha’s place, another prophet, annoyed, might have said, “Another money problems! I’m not a bank!” Elisha isn't that other prophet. He wasn't known for being a great teacher. He wasn't like Moses, who wrote a lot. Even if he had been, perhaps that widow had neither the time nor the means to attend business school. 🙂 I’d like to take this opportunity to tell someone that just because a man of God performs miracles doesn’t mean he’s achieved everything in his life through miracles. Elisha asked her what she had at home. God will always start with what we have—with what is within us. Oil is what you have—something that can be amplified, multiplied, cultivated, refined, and marketed. The oil is the gift, the talent, the experience, the skill, your know-how, and the ability that others recognize in you. It is the solution within you to the problems of others. It is what can be easily and quickly marketed in your situation and context. Make your inventory, and you will find oil. The vase is the channel through which the oil is distributed. You may know how to write blog posts, lessons, books, reports, manuals, recipes, and scripts for movies and cartoons. But if you don’t write, if you don’t publish, if you don’t submit your work for review and correction, no one will know. Are you deep in debt or a student looking for some extra income to make ends meet? If so, what can you do? Do you know how to cut hair, cook, code, write, translate, decorate, drive, wash, iron, babysit, look after children, walk dogs, draw, proofread, advise, serve, repair, deliver, sell, sew, help with moves, film, grow crops, or host? Elisha then gives her some instructions: ask for jars on the street and from neighbors, close the door behind you, pour the oil into the jars, set some aside, go sell it, pay off your debts, and live on what’s left. What is your interpretation of these instructions? Asking for vases on the street and from neighbors: You don’t ask neighbors for vases if you have a bad reputation or if you’re in conflict with them. Asking for vases forced her to step outside her comfort zone. The vases represent the resources that others are willing to invest in your project. Normally, you go to your neighbors before going out onto the street. But Elisha told her to go out into the street before going to her neighbors. In other words, he told her to start today, right now, on her way home. He told her to start with the neighborhood, the camp of the prophets. Among the families her husband had saved, there were some who would lend her jars. God would incline their hearts in her favor. The other prophets were listening to the conversation. Indirectly, Elisha was saying to those present, “If you have empty jars, tell your wives to lend them to this woman.” Even if they didn’t, God would guide her steps toward others. Those who lend her jars are potential future clients or partners. The Lord will guide her steps. Close the door behind you: Closing the door shows wisdom and discretion. You shouldn’t advertise before it’s time (before you have the product). You don’t advertise a product you don’t know, haven’t tested, or verified. If you don’t yet have the product, the packaging, or the point of sale, keep quiet. She should have started with her sons, not with her neighbors or the crowd. She borrowed the jars, not the houses. Closing the door means maintaining communion with God. It means avoiding the noise made by those who have neither contributions, nor suggestions, nor intercessions. Pouring the oil into containers: Pouring the oil into containers means making good use of what one has and avoiding waste. She poured the oil into containers that could hold it properly in terms of both quality and quantity. She did not pour the oil into baskets. She had a high-quality product to preserve. It was neither cheap oil nor unrefined oil. Set aside: To set aside is to pause for a moment and reflect. It is to be patient. It is to say to God, “I will not move forward until You speak. I started with You, and I’ll finish with You.” It’s asking God what the next step is. Where will she go to sell her oil? At what price? Given the quality of her oil or the type of oil, what’s the market rate? Will she offer discounts to those who lent her jars? Exactly how much does she need? Will she invest part of the money to buy a field, seeds, or oil from a wholesaler? Will she sell to individuals or to bakers? In her town or in neighboring towns? Will there be taxes to pay? Will she pay off her debt in installments or all at once? Go sell it: Oil doesn’t pay off debts. It’s what you do with the oil that pays off the debts. God has done His part; now it’s up to her to do hers. It’s up to her to present her oil. It’s up to her to open a store or go from place to place to sell her product. It took just one day for the miracle to happen. I don’t think the sale was completed in a single day. Elisha didn’t ask for anything in return for himself. He was capable of doing good without expecting anything in return. You don’t eat a widow’s bread if you’re not able to multiply it, if you don’t care about what she’ll eat tomorrow. Elisha didn’t go to her house. He didn’t go to sell it for her. It was up to her to exercise her faith. Paying off debts: Paying off debts and returning borrowed vases demonstrates honesty, integrity, and respect for priorities. It’s about maintaining good relationships. Today it’s vases. Tomorrow, perhaps it will be cans, then barrels, trucks, and containers. She will be judged by the same standard by which she judges others. Paying off debts means not misappropriating income. What would have happened if, instead of paying off her debts and returning the vases, she had bought luxury handbags? Paying off debts means enabling another widow to borrow or have the capital to get started. Paying off debts means serving your community and honoring God. Living with what's left : GOD performs miracles, but He won't always perform miracles. That's why He asks us to manage our money wisely. We must not tempt GOD. This widow had two sons. 🙂 Living on what’s left means teaching your sons so that, from generation to generation, your descendants will know how to manage, give, invest, and teach. It’s about learning lessons. It’s about understanding that those we helped (yesterday) won’t necessarily be the ones who help us (tomorrow). 🙂 This widow’s husband managed his resources well. He wasn’t irresponsible. He didn’t count on Elisha to pay off his debts. He had fed the prophets because God had convinced him to do so. Perhaps God did not want him to borrow money. Perhaps if he had asked God for provision while he was still alive, he would not have died in debt. Perhaps the 100 prophets whom her husband had saved were poor and in debt. Perhaps God allowed things to unfold this way so that we might all learn from them. Faith isn't about the oil multiplying. That's the miracle. Faith is demonstrated the moment you borrow the jars. Borrowing the jars is an act of faith. Pouring the oil is an act of obedience. Your faith is demonstrated in the way you take care of your jars. Having faith means believing what GOD says and preparing yourself accordingly for what He will do. Do you want to get out of debt and manage your finances better? Show me what you’re giving toward the expansion of the Kingdom. Show me the teachings and interviews you listen to, the books you read. Show me your inventory. GOD may have already answered your prayer. It is written " For the Lord your God will bless you just as He promised you; you shall lend to many nations, but you shall not borrow; you shall reign over many nations, but they shall not reign over you." I want to speak to someone who has made sacrifices for the Kingdom and/or for others. You have given without receiving anything in return. You have paid for others’ education, bills, and medical care. You’d like to do this and that, but people are constantly asking you for money. You do what you can, but it’s never enough. Here is the message I have for you: “God has not forgotten you. He isn’t asking you to do more than you’re capable of. He’s asking you to listen to Him and to offer Him something He can multiply. He’s asking you to take notes when He speaks to you. You have more than Elisha—you have the Holy Spirit.” It's tempting to rush through this story and focus on the miracle. After all, who doesn't love miracles? But let's take the time to reflect on the bigger picture. What do you think? Wiyau—the one whom God lifts up! Saleum meuturi—the one whom God nourishes! God is faithful. Yes, God is faithful. Circumstances do not defeat God. They reveal Him. Because God reveals Himself through people, circumstances are opportunities for Him—opportunities to reveal His wisdom, goodness, and presence. The solutions to our problems are often closer and simpler than we think. It is in simplicity that certain answers will come: a word, a phrase, an image, an idea, an adjustment, an update. Don’t tell God how to do what He has promised to do for you. Ask Him to help you. Listen and take notes. ❖(Psalms 68:5, NKJV) : A father of the fatherless, a defender of widows, Is God in His holy habitation. ❖(Psalms 37:25-26, NKJV) : " I have been young, and now am old ; Yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken, Nor his descendants begging bread. As usual, let’s begin with the context of this story. 1. The context Elisha is the prophet who succeeded Elijah after the latter ascended to heaven (2 Kings 2:9–14). His name means “God is Savior” or “God is Salvation” (Strong’s No. 477, Hebrew). A prophet from the school of prophets led by Elisha had died. We do not know exactly whether this prophet was still in training or whether he was a recognized (ordained) prophet. I choose to believe that he was an ordained prophet. This prophet died in debt. The debt was so large that his widow and his two sons could not repay it. The creditor threatens the widow that he will take her two sons as slaves to work for him in order to repay their father’s debt. According to the law in effect at that time, creditors could take debtors and their children as servants for several years to repay a debt (Exodus 21:2–4). 2. The Introduction of the Widow (2 Kings 4:1) The widow goes to see Elisha, hoping he will provide her with financial assistance. She approaches the prophet Elisha, crying out. Why is she crying out? The prophet Elisha is not deaf. She is described as a woman from the community of prophets. I infer that it was not difficult for her to gain access to the prophet Elisha or to the prophets who surrounded him. Did she want to attract the prophets’ attention? Some people believe that the presence of a crowd can be used as leverage. Was she crying out because she had bitterness in her heart? How long had her husband been dead? Did members of the community go to visit her? What do you think? She said to the prophet Elisha, “Your servant, my husband, has died, and you know that he feared the Lord.” Personally, I hope that when I die, people will say that I feared the Lord above all else. She begins by saying “your servant.” It’s a way of telling Elisha that he has a responsibility to help her. Then she says, “my husband.” It’s a way of saying that, in his absence, she is the one who needs your help. Given their relationship, she has every right to ask you for help. Next, she adds, “You know that he feared the Lord.” It’s a way of saying to Elisha, “Don’t act as if you didn’t know him. He did you no wrong. You have no reason not to intervene. Even if he wasn’t your best friend, you had nothing to fault in his service. He had a good reputation.” I would have liked to ask that widow some questions. In particular: Regarding the management of her family’s finances : Was she aware of her husband’s debt before his death? If so, how did they plan to pay it off? Was he receiving a salary from Elisée? Was he supposed to receive a salary from Elisée? I understand that this family lived on a single income—the husband’s. However, how did they end up with such a large debt? The text does not tell us that they owned a field capable of generating income. Regarding her understanding of Elisha’s ministry: Is it a prophet’s role to give money? Do we go to a prophet to receive a word or to receive money? It’s no secret that Elisha came from a wealthy family (1 Kings 19:19). But is that a reason to mismanage his resources and expect money from him? If Elisha had come from a poor family, would she have started by asking him to pray for her? Regarding the relationship between Elisha and her late husband: Yes, her husband was a servant of Elisha. But is it his fault that he was so deeply in debt? Had he been asked to take on more debt when he wasn’t ready? Had he spoken to Elisha about his difficulties? No matter how great a prophet may be, he is not omniscient. I don’t know how many prophets were under Elisha’s mentorship or leadership. But if he was the only one in debt, it means he missed a key part of his training: lessons on consent, financial management, and so on. What do you think? 🙂 I don’t just have questions. There are things I appreciate about this widow’s attitude. She sought help from the person who represented the voice of GOD for her and her husband. She went to talk about her problem with someone who was able to give her good advice, who had a covenant with God, and who had already won a battle like hers. She didn’t go begging for bread here and there. She didn’t rush to sell her house. She didn’t run away from her creditor. She didn’t curse her creditor. She didn’t feel sorry for herself. She didn’t curse God. She didn’t curse the prophets. She didn't wait for someone to take her children to God's house. She went straight to the one who represented God's voice in her life. She knew that, one way or another, God would intervene. She didn't know how. But she knew that nothing is impossible for God. She knew the following two verses: ❖ (Psalms 68:5, NKJV) : A father of the fatherless, a defender of widows, Is God in His holy habitation. ❖ (Psalms 37:25-26, NKJV) : " I have been young, and now am old ; Yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken, Nor his descendants begging bread. He is ever merciful, and lends; And his descendants are blessed. Questions If we were in a situation similar to that of this widow, what should our attitude be? In addition to the verses already mentioned, what other verses could we draw upon? What could we do to avoid such a situation? Do we know anyone who has gone through similar situations? Circumstances do not define God, but reveal Him. God does not cease to be God when we face problems. Faith is not about knowing everything, but about believing what we do know and acting in obedience. I would like to say to a wealthy person: Teach your household well according to the words of the Lord. Teach your children well. Let them know the mistakes not to repeat. Let them know where to seek advice and help when you’re not there. You can inherit money from your parents. But the wisdom to manage it well isn’t inherited. It’s learned. I would like to say to a poor person: Curses and blessings are often generational choices—mistakes repeated from generation to generation, and ignorance passed down from generation to generation. Have you asked God why your family is poor? You can be born into a poor family and, by God’s grace, become rich. God blesses, teaches, heals, restores, redeems lost time, protects, guides, and establishes. He has done this for others. He can do it for you. I would like to say to a child : Don't blame God and His servants for your parents' choices and mistakes. I would like to say to a poor person: The rich also have problems and priorities. If you befriend people for financial gain, be certain they will distance themselves from you for lack of financial gain. I would like to say to a parent: If it's too late for you, it's still early for your children. They're still young enough to learn. If you think you're too old to become rich, your children are too young to be poor. I would like to say to someone in debt: Pray to God that He will grant you a long enough life to pay off your debts. I would like to say to a homemaker: It’s not his money. It’s your money. You shouldn’t just be informed of important decisions. You should be consulted before important decisions are made. I would like to say to a prophet: the anointing is not an excuse for being irresponsible, and good stewardship is not a lack of faith. The anointing multiplies and amplifies what you already have. The anointing does not replace wisdom. Appearances can sometimes be deceiving. There is no point in envying others. Some people travel by private jet but are in debt. Just because a person is anointed in one area doesn’t mean they’re necessarily anointed in another. You have to distinguish between the spiritual aspect of finances and the practical aspect of managing money. Some people live off donations, inheritances, and financial miracles. Because you have fed the orphan, your descendants will never lack bread. Because you have defended the oppressed, I will defend your cause. I stand as your guarantor. Your reward will be great. I command blessings to follow you. I command the wise to instruct you. I command kings to welcome you. I command the light to be with you. I make you known among those I love, before the crowd and the world come to know you. You are blessed and anointed for what I am calling you to do. Never doubt it, my child. Just a little while longer, and your equipment will be complete.” Where was the tithe given before and during the Levitical Law? Where should one give one's tithe under the New Covenant? Where should one give one's tithe? Wherever God leads you to repentance, nourishes you, guides you, equips you, asks it of you, or establishes you. ❖ (Leviticus 27 : 30, NKJV) : And all the tithe of the land, whether of the seed of the land or of the fruit of the tree, is the Lord’s. It is holy to the Lord. ❖ (Proverbs 3:9-10, NKJV) : Honor the Lord (give glory) with your possessions, And with the firstfruits of all your increase (income); So your barns will be filled with plenty, And your vats will overflow with new wine. ❖ (Luke 11:42, NKJV) : “But woe to you Pharisees! For you tithe mint and rue and all manner of herbs, and pass by justice and the love of God. These you ought to have done, without leaving the others undone." ❖ (2 Corinthians 9:7, NKJV) : So let each one give as he purposes in his heart, not grudgingly or of [f]necessity; for God loves a cheerful giver. ❖ (Ezra 1:4-5, NKJV) : And whoever is left in any place where he dwells, let the men of his place help him with silver and gold, with goods and livestock, besides the freewill offerings for the house of God which is in Jerusalem. Then the heads of the fathers’ houses of Judah and Benjamin, and the priests and the Levites, with all whose spirits God had moved, arose to go up and build the house of the Lord which is in Jerusalem. Last Tuesday, I led an online discussion in English about personal finances with brothers and sisters in Christ. Someone asked where we should give our tithes. In this article, I’d like to share my answer and a summary of the others’ contributions. In my previous article on tithing and the one on the offering of firstfruits, I explained the origin of tithing and why I tithe. I would like to remind you that the (Levitical) law did not establish tithing; rather, it made it mandatory for the Jewish people so that they could all benefit from it. Giving the firstfruits is a divine principle that predates the Levitical Law by a long time. School is mandatory from a certain age up to another in almost every country. This is because we know how important it is to have a basic education. There are things we ask children and teenagers to do. But later, when they become mature adults—once they have understood their purpose and importance—they do them on their own, without being asked. They often even go beyond what was asked of them. For me, that’s how the principle of tithing works. Jesus abolished the law (the Levitical system), but He did not nullify the divine principles. Tithing is the minimum we are called to give to God. Everyone is free to act according to the revelation of Scripture and their own conviction regarding the Lord. As we know, He instructs and makes Himself known to those who seek Him. As for me, tithing is an act of love, gratitude, reverence, faith, and above all, an act of worship. Because the Lord will always appreciate offerings made with a willing heart, because He will always bless (in one way or another) the one who gives, and because the order of Melchizedek will always exist through Jesus, I encourage you to tithe—and give more if possible. Because we are under grace and not under the law, I will never judge you if you do not do so. This article is for those who are wondering where to give their tithes. Those who are wondering if tithes should be given exclusively to a church. Those who are wondering if they can be given to multiple churches, to servants of God, to ministries, associations, and Christian institutions. If these questions do not apply to you, then this article is not for you. God Himself does not need money. He is omnipotent. However, on earth, the Kingdom needs our contributions just as a government needs taxes from its citizens. Everyone is free to give according to their convictions and resources. God gave His life for your salvation. His life is priceless. If you think that voluntarily giving at least 10% of your income for the expansion of the Kingdom is excessive, then this article is not for you. If that’s the case, we understand that you don’t feel called to do so or that you feel you don’t have enough to give. We do not judge you. In return, we hope you understand that we give out of love, gratitude, and conviction (without coercion). May the peace of Christ be with you. Where was the tithe given before and during the Levitical Law? Abel offered the firstborn of his flock to God (Genesis 4:4). The Bible does not give us the exact details. However, we can assume that it was on an altar. Abraham gave his tithe to Melchizedek, priest of God and king of Salem (Genesis 14:18–20). It is not written that Melchizedek was the one who asked Abraham to give him the tithe. I therefore venture to think that the initiative came from God and Abraham. Jacob promised God that he would give Him a tithe of all his income (Genesis 28:16–22). However, the Bible does not tell us where or how he gave his tithes. From what we know from Scripture, tithes were given on an altar to God or to a priest of God. Let's read a few verses: ❖ (Deuteronomy 12: 11-14; 17-19, NKJV) : " 11 then there will be the place where the Lord your God chooses to make His name abide. There you shall bring all that I command you: your burnt offerings, your sacrifices, your tithes, the heave offerings of your hand, and all your choice offerings which you vow to the Lord. 12 And you shall rejoice before the Lord your God, you and your sons and your daughters, your male and female servants, and the Levite who is within your gates, since he has no portion nor inheritance with you. 13 Take heed to yourself that you do not offer your burnt offerings in every place that you see; 14 but in the place which the Lord chooses, in one of your tribes, there you shall offer your burnt offerings, and there you shall do all that I command you. [...] 17 You may not eat within your gates the tithe of your grain or your new wine or your oil, of the firstborn of your herd or your flock, of any of your offerings which you vow, of your freewill offerings, or of the heave offering of your hand. 18 But you must eat them before the Lord your God in the place which the Lord your God chooses, you and your son and your daughter, your male servant and your female servant, and the Levite who is within your gates; and you shall rejoice before the Lord your God in all to which you put your hands. 19 Take heed to yourself that you do not forsake the Levite as long as you live in your land. ❖(Deuteronomy 14: 28-29, NKJV) : " 28 “At the end of every third year you shall bring out the tithe of your produce of that year and store it up within your gates. 29 And the Levite, because he has no portion nor inheritance with you, and the stranger and the fatherless and the widow who are within your gates, may come and eat and be satisfied, that the Lord your God may bless you in all the work of your hand which you do. ❖ (Malachi 3:10, KJV) : " Bring all the tithes into the storehouse, That there may be food in My house, And try Me now in this,” Says the Lord of hosts, “If I will not open for you the windows of heaven And pour out for you such blessing That there will not be room enough to receive it. Under the Levitical Law, tithes were given to: provide for the needs of the Levites, maintain and build the temple, celebrate the mandatory festivals, and support widows, orphans, and strangers in need. The tithe was either given to the Levites, to the temple, or distributed as food to widows, orphans, and foreigners in need. GOD decided where the tithe should be given, to whom it should be given, and how it should be given. Where should one give one's tithe under the New Covenant ? Where God leads you to repentance, nourishes you, guides you, equips you, calls you, or establishes you. ❖ (Leviticus 27 : 30, NKJV) : And all the tithe of the land, whether of the seed of the land or of the fruit of the tree, is the Lord’s. It is holy to the Lord. ❖ (Leviticus 27 : 30, french version) : Every tithe of the land—whether from the crops of the land or the fruit of the trees—belongs to the Lord; it is set apart for the Lord. ❖ (Luke 11:42, NKJV) : But woe to you Pharisees! For you tithe mint and rue and all manner of herbs, and pass by justice and the love of God. These you ought to have done, without leaving the others undone. ❖ (1 Corinthians 9:13-14, NKJV) : Do you not know that those who minister the holy things eat of the things of the temple, and those who serve at the altar partake of the offerings of the altar? Even so the Lord has commanded that those who preach the gospel should live from the gospel. ❖ (1 Timothy 5:17-18, NKJV) : " Let the elders who rule well be counted worthy of double honor, especially those who labor in the word and doctrine. For the Scripture says, “You shall not muzzle an ox while it treads out the grain,” and, “The laborer is worthy of his wages.” 🙂 Jesus rebuked the Pharisees for neglecting justice and love. He did not rebuke them for tithing. On the contrary, he told them that justice (integrity) and love should accompany their tithes. God the Father said under the covenant that all tithes belong to him. Did He ever say that tithes belong to us under the New Covenant? The answer is no. I don’t understand why some people say that Jesus-Christ is against tithing. Aren’t we reading the same Bible? tithing is a personal choice. Those who aren’t convinced they should tithe shouldn’t tell those who do that they are under the Law. There are those who give, those who give more than a tithe, and those who do not tithe. Let each person act according to their convictions and resources. Some people say that the early Church did not practice tithing, but rather voluntary giving. Either they are saying one thing and its opposite, or they need to clarify their statements. Giving voluntarily means giving without compulsion or regret, with joy and conviction (2 Corinthians 9:7). How is this incompatible with tithing? Whether one tithes or not, whoever gives regularly with joy is pleasing to God. Where should one give one's tithe? Wherever God leads you to repentance, nourishes you, guides you, equips you, asks it of you, or establishes you. Our answers : Since the tithe belongs to God, He is free to do with it as He pleases. It is up to Him to tell each person where to give their tithe. It is His money, deposited in our bank accounts. He can tell some to give it here, others there, elsewhere, or both at the same time. He can do so whenever and however He chooses. Tithing should not be done out of religious duty, sentiment, under intimidation, or as a spiritual transaction. We do not tithe out of fear of going to hell or with the intention of asking God to do something in return. Grace cannot be bought. Giving tithes is not done to receive a prophecy or to activate a spiritual gift.Tithing should not be done because of pressure from a so-called pastor who harasses and threatens people morning and night. Neither should people tithe to a church or organisation that does not teach the truth or practises idolatry. God desires our salvation, our consecration, our restoration, and our commitment to the Kingdom. Jesus calls us to be disciples, to support those who make disciples, and to make disciples ourselves. Therefore, tithes may be given to churches, ministries, and men and women who are expanding the Kingdom. As ambassadors of CHRIST, we are also called to support acts of compassion toward those who are in distress or in need. However, the Great Commission to make disciples is superior to acts of compassion. That is why tithes should primarily be given to churches, ministries, and organizations that win souls, train, and support disciples. Because the Bible is the most important book, I encourage you to make occasional donations to an organization that publishes or translates the Bible. Thousands of people have given of themselves so that we can read this book freely. There are still thousands more who are risking their lives so that others can read it. The tithe should be given where God leads you to repentance, nourishes you, guides you, equips you, asks you to give, or establishes you. This refers, therefore, to the ministry or local church that brought you to CHRIST. Then, to the ministry or church through which you are taught, strengthened, and/or serving. It is where you first receive your spiritual nourishment, even if it is online. Abraham gave his tithe to Melchizedek. Those who preach the Gospel should be honored and supported first and foremost (though not exclusively) by those who are edified by their ministry. God may therefore lead a person to give their tithe—or a portion of it—to a specific person or ministry. Tithes should primarily be given to one's local church or local ministry. The Levites lived in 48 cities scattered throughout the territories of the other tribes. Each tribe provided for the Levites in its own cities. Priority does not mean exclusivity. But if you never give your tithe to your local or online church—or to the ministry that serves you (or your minor children) in the role of a local church—then there is a problem. Either that church (or ministry) is not your local church, or it is no longer your local church. If you've just arrived in a city, a country, or a church, give your tithe where GOD was nourishing you spiritually until He leads you to your new church (when you're convinced that's where you belong) or tells you to do otherwise. Not all Christians belong to a local church. A local church can be digital. A ministry that fulfills the role of a local church is considered a local church. For example, ministries dedicated to people in prison, the blind, the mute, and people living in countries closed to the Gospel or on military bases. If you can’t give to the local branch, give to the trunk (headquarters). God will find a way to get it to the branch. Not all local churches are yet officially recognized as local churches. (Deuteronomy 8:17–18, Segond 21) A. Shareholders’ Current Accounts Shareholder current accounts are funds made available to a company by its shareholders. The purpose is to finance the company’s growth or to provide temporary assistance (working capital, peak demand, security deposits, etc.). In return, the company compensates the holders of these current accounts by paying interest or dividend bonuses. An agreement signed between the partners and the company defines the guarantees, payment terms, and repayment terms. Among partner accounts, we distinguish between: Shareholder current accounts: Funds are available for an indefinite period. A shareholder may request repayment of their funds at any time, or may choose never to do so. Restricted partner checking accounts: Funds are loaned for a fixed term. The partner cannot request repayment before a predetermined date. Locked accounts for a future increase in share capital: The funds lent are intended to be incorporated into the company’s share capital after a certain period, subject to the company’s financial situation and the achievement of certain objectives. Unlike the previous two types, these accounts are classified under “other equity” on the company’s balance sheet. In addition to compensation and/or access to share capital, the benefit of these accounts for partners is that they limit access to capital, encourage the reinvestment of profits, and reduce dependence on banks. B. Private Equity or Unlisted Financial Securities In previous articles, I explained what financial securities are (stocks and shares, bonds, and debt securities). I also took the opportunity to discuss Collective Investment Schemes (CIS) and ETFs. We therefore know what financial securities are. There are other types of financial securities (derivatives, structured products, and complex instruments). I’ll discuss some of them in future articles. However, what we’ve learned from the previous articles is more than enough for this one. In English-speaking countries, a publicly traded company is referred to as “public,” while an unlisted company is referred to as “private,” hence the term “private equity.” In France, public companies are those owned by the government or a public entity, while private companies are all others, whether or not they are publicly traded. Private equity is the investment in the capital of unlisted companies at various stages of their development. It differs from public equity, which refers to investment in publicly traded companies. The investment (the purchase of shares) is made by individual investors, corporations, pension funds, or investment funds, also known as holding companies. Investment funds acquire companies or stakes in companies with the aim of gradually reselling their shares years later to realize capital gains. Some investment funds borrow money to invest, while others invest using their own capital. To maximize the company’s future value—and thus the capital gain upon sale—investors provide advice (on finance, strategy, marketing, research and development, and management) or business networks to the company’s founders and executives. For investment funds and seasoned investors (business angels or entrepreneurs), there are five main types of private equity: Venture Capital or Seed Capital – Innovation Capital – Early Stage: These companies are very young and generally not yet profitable. Their business model is still being developed. Investors have a strong understanding of the industry or the technology being used or developed. They know that, eventually, the company will either become profitable or sell its discovery, product, or expertise to larger companies. The most common example is that of startups. Investors’ funds may be used to cover patent fees. This is the riskiest stage of investment, with the highest risk of bankruptcy. Growth capital: The company is profitable or on the verge of becoming so. Investors’ money will be used to fund marketing, increase production, develop a new product, or acquire another company. Turnaround capital: The investment is used to finance a turnaround plan. Succession capital: The company is bought out from its founders, who wish to sell and move on (to develop a new product) or are retiring. Investors aim to grow the company with the goal of taking it public or eventually reselling it. LBO (leveraged buyout) acquisitions: The companies are profitable and in their maturity phase. At the very least, the business model is clear. The investment is financed with debt. The acquiring investor relies on future profits to repay the debt. Sometimes investors (companies) want to acquire a publicly traded company. They launch a tender offer to gain control, delist it (if possible), and grow it without the constraints associated with being publicly traded and having multiple shareholders. For reference, a publicly traded company can have hundreds, thousands, or even millions of shareholders. For individual investors like you and me, investing typically occurs when the company is in its growth phase. The minimum investment amount can be low or very high. The three main ways for individual investors to invest are: Direct investment: The company invites individuals to invest through announcements on its website, emails, or other channels. Investing through mutual funds: Investors invest in investment fund companies. They entrust their money to the fund. Fund managers decide to invest in companies they deem promising. Investing through crowdfunding platforms: There are three types. Crowdlending: Investors purchase bonds with terms ranging from one to four years. Crowdequity: Investors receive shares. Real estate crowdfunding: Investors finance real estate projects and are repaid at maturity with interest. The term ranges from one to three years. Good to know for French residents: Some investment funds and crowdfunding platforms allow you to invest through traditional PEA accounts (offered by banks and insurance companies) and PEA-PME accounts (PEAs dedicated to small and medium-sized enterprises). If you’re not familiar with what a PEA is, I discussed it in the article on insurance products. 🙂 Investing in private equity involves both advantages and risks. It can be more, equally, or less advantageous than investing in the stock market. All large companies started out as small businesses in private equity. Listed companies are not entirely publicly traded (a portion is not listed on the stock exchange). These two sentences effectively summarize the potential of private equity. Crowdfunding platforms allow for collective investing. This helps spread the risk. The crowdfunding platform preselects companies (across all sectors), asks members to vote on the companies or projects they find interesting, and then raises the funds. You know exactly where your money is going. Private equity isn’t all advantages. Not all startups will become success stories. There are success stories and there are long-running nightmares. So here are some points to keep in mind: Private equity isn’t for the impatient. If you want to be able to access your money at any time, this isn’t for you. It’s possible to lose your money or have to wait a long time before the company becomes profitable. You need to clearly distinguish between the product (or sector), the industry, and the company itself. You also need to clearly distinguish between lending money and buying equity shares. Some companies claim to be—or appear to be—in a growth phase, when in reality they’re still in the early stages. The number of years a company has been in business, its reputation, or the fact that it has raised significant amounts of money do not necessarily indicate the maturity of its product, business model, or management. Every investment should be a personal choice, not simply following the crowd. I enjoy private equity just as much as investing in the stock market and cryptocurrencies. However, I do not invest with the same frequency or in the same amounts across all three types. Each type of investment has its own characteristics, advantages, and risks. Every investor has their own context, preferences, and constraints. They are also those who worship their traditions, their possessions, and their leaders. They are also those who lead people away from CHRIST, His Word, His example, and His works. “Say these things, encourage, and rebuke with full authority. Let no one despise you.” (Titus 2:15) Remain faithful to the message and example of CHRIST. Remember that not all are false teachers and wolves. Some are ignorant, weak, lost, or bound. Speak the truth with kindness and wisdom. Speak the truth with humility, for you are no more loved by GOD than those to whom you speak. JESUS gave His life for everyone, everyone, everyone. ❖(Matthew 24: 4-5, NKJV) : And Jesus answered and said to them: “ Take heed that no one deceives you. For many will come in My name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ and will deceive many. ❖ (Acts 1:9-11, NKJV) : Now when He had spoken these things, while they watched, He was taken up, and a cloud received Him out of their sight. And while they looked steadfastly toward heaven as He went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel, who also said, “Men of Galilee, why do you stand gazing up into heaven? This same Jesus, who was taken up from you into heaven, will so come in like manner as you saw Him go into heaven.” Some people claim that the return of JESUS CHRIST is spiritual and invisible, and already took place in 1914. The main proponents of this lie are the JEOHOVAH’S WITNESSES. I am sharing my response below to set people free and prevent them from being led astray. ❖ (Matthew 16: 27-28, NKJV) : " For the Son of Man will come in the glory of His Father with His angels, and then He will reward each according to his works. Assuredly, I say to you, there are some standing here who shall not taste death till they see the Son of Man coming in His kingdom.” In this verse, JESUS himself says, among other things, that he will return and that many people will not die without seeing him come in his kingdom. If many people will not die without seeing him come in his kingdom, it means that his coming will be neither spiritual nor invisible. ❖ (Acts 1:9-11, NKJV) : Now when He had spoken these things, while they watched, He was taken up, and a cloud received Him out of their sight. And while they looked steadfastly toward heaven as He went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel, who also said, “Men of Galilee, why do you stand gazing up into heaven? But this does not mean at all that every time people dressed in white appear, they are angels. First, JESUS is very often dressed in white. Second, angels are not always dressed in white. Third, the devil, his angels, and certain demons can appear in white when they try to impersonate JESUS, GOD the FATHER, or his angels. ❖ (Hebrews 9:28, NKJV) : So Christ was offered once to bear the sins of many. To those who eagerly wait for Him He will appear a second time, apart from sin, for salvation. Through the letter of the Apostle Paul, the HOLY SPIRIT reminds and reassures those who doubted that JESUS will return a second time in the flesh and that He will appear to many. He thus confirms what the Apostle Matthew wrote (chapter 16, verses 27 and 28). ❖ (Luke 24:36-43, NKJV) : " 36 Now as they said these things, Jesus Himself stood in the midst of them, and said to them, “Peace to you.” 37 But they were terrified and frightened, and supposed they had seen a spirit. 38 And He said to them, “Why are you troubled? And why do doubts arise in your hearts? 39 Behold My hands and My feet, that it is I Myself. Handle Me and see, for a spirit does not have flesh and bones as you see I have.” 40 When He had said this, He showed them His hands and His feet. 41 But while they still did not believe for joy, and marveled, He said to them, “Have you any food here?” 42 So they gave Him a piece of a broiled fish and some honeycomb. 43 And He took it and ate in their presence. ❖ (John 20: 24-29, NKJV) : 24 Now Thomas, called the Twin, one of the twelve, was not with them when Jesus came. 25 The other disciples therefore said to him, “We have seen the Lord.” So he said to them, “Unless I see in His hands the print of the nails, and put my finger into the print of the nails, and put my hand into His side, I will not believe.” 26 And after eight days His disciples were again inside, and Thomas with them. Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.” ❖ (Philippians 3: 20-21, NKJV) : For our citizenship is in heaven, from which we also eagerly wait for the Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, who will transform our lowly body that it may be conformed to His glorious body, according to the working by which He is able even to subdue all things to Himself. After his resurrection, JESUS appeared to his disciples many times (Luke 24:1–51, John 20:16–29, Acts 10:41). He appeared bearing the scars of the crucifixion. He allowed Thomas—and surely others as well—to touch him. He still bears the scars of the crucifixion. He is fully GOD, in a human form (see the article JESUS CHRIST: Eternal, Angel of the LORD, and GOD the LORD). More than five hundred people saw him on earth after the resurrection, before he returned to heaven (1 Corinthians 15:4–6). He ate and drank with them (Acts 10:41). JESUS has no intention of parting with his physical body. He never said so. On the contrary, through the Scriptures, he tells us that he will keep his body for eternity. Otherwise, he would not be called the Son of Man, the second man, the Son of David, or a descendant of David (John 1:14, 1 John 4:2, Luke 18:35–43, 1 Corinthians 15:44–49, Romans 5:15). JESUS does not cease to have a body. A glorious body is not an immaterial, non-physical, or incorporeal body. A glorious body is one that is no longer—or is not—subject to decay, earthly constraints, or physical limitations (1 Corinthians 15:35–57). Since JESUS has a glorious body for eternity, how can anyone say that His second coming will be spiritual and invisible? It makes absolutely no sense to say that. Worse still, to say so is to contradict Scripture. GOD has not given anyone—not even the angels—the right to alter His Word (Revelation 22:19, Galatians 1:6–9, 2 Timothy 3:16–17, Hebrews 4:12, Matthew 24:4–5, Deuteronomy 4:2, Deuteronomy 12:32). The second coming of JESUS has not yet taken place. Those who are still alive at that time will see it. By then, the Gospel will have been preached throughout the whole world (Matthew 24:14). The main reasons for JESUS’s second coming are: He will return to take the Church (John 14:3). He will return to save the nation of Israel (Romans 11:26-27). He will return to defeat the Antichrist and, a second time, the devil (2 Thessalonians 2:8). He will return to judge (Matthew 25:31-32). He will return to establish the millennial kingdom on earth (Revelation 20:4). JEHOVAH’s Witnesses teach that the second coming of JESUS CHRIST already took place in 1914. In light of the points raised in the preceding paragraphs, it is clear that this is false. The second coming of Jesus has not yet taken place. Those who are still alive at that time will see it. By then, the Gospel will have been preached throughout the whole world (Matthew 24:14). Nowhere in the Bible is it written or taught that the second coming of JESUS is spiritual, invisible, and that it took place in 1914. Either you read the Bible, or you don’t. Either you pretend to read the Bible, or you actually read it. Either you teach the Scriptures, or you don’t. Either you repent, or you persist in false doctrines and false prophecies. Honour GOD and He will honour His promise. Honour GOD and He will bless you. ❖ The people will curse him who withholds grain, But blessing will be on the head of him who sells it. (Proverbs 11:26, NKJV) ❖ He who trusts in his riches will fall, But the righteous will flourish like foliage. (Proverbs 11:28, NKJV) Inflation is a general and sustained rise in the prices of goods and services. This situation corresponds to a decline in purchasing power. In other words, with the same amount of money, one can buy fewer things than before. Inflation can be cost-push, demand-pull, monetary, and/or imported. The causes may be combined (simultaneous). In contrast, deflation refers to a widespread and sustained decline in prices. Cost-push inflation is caused by rising supply costs and/or production costs (raw materials, energy, transportation, wages, equipment). Demand-pull inflation occurs when demand (those who want a product or service) exceeds supply (products or services available for sale). Money-supply inflation is caused by an excess of money in circulation (too many banknotes printed). Imported inflation is the increase in the cost of imported goods due to the depreciation of a currency against the U.S. dollar and/or major international trade currencies (the euro, the yuan, the pound sterling, the yen). This increase affects all sectors, as certain imported goods serve as components, raw materials, energy sources, or basic commodities in importing countries. This rise can also be caused by conflicts, the termination of international agreements, or a series of natural disasters. Examples: €100 in France in 2016 is equivalent to €117.47 in 2024, representing a cumulative increase of €17.47 (17.47%). Over this period, the average annual inflation rate is 2.03%. Suppose the expected inflation rate over the next 5 years is 2%. A sum of €100 today will be worth €90.91 in 5 years. In other words, this sum will only be enough to purchase goods worth €90.91. The €100 item will cost €110.00. One consequence of inflation is that it leads to a decline in the savings rate for those whose incomes do not rise at the same pace as, or at a rate higher than, inflation. Inflation reduces the savings rate of those who lack discipline in their spending. Inflation has positive effects on investments. Suppose someone buys a piece of land this year for 100 euros. If inflation is 2% this year, their house will be worth 102 euros. If, in addition to inflation, the neighborhood has appreciated in value, the price of their house will be significantly higher than 102 euros. As long as it remains low, inflation is considered good for the economy of a country or region. It is therefore sought after, monitored, and, if possible, controlled by governments. Inflation impoverishes some and enriches others. Those who have managed their finances well or made sound investments benefit from it. Those who have mismanaged their finances or made poor investments suffer as a result. I like to say that change is a constant, in the sense of progress. Change is a constant. Either we anticipate it, adapt to it, or suffer through it. Don’t assume that what is cheap today will remain so. Nor that what is expensive for you is expensive for others or will be expensive for others. Prices will not always be what they are today. The situation may reverse; what is expensive today may not be so tomorrow. Prices can go up or down. We don’t know what they will be in five years. But we know what is written in the Word: manage your resources well, save, and if possible, invest. Yes, GOD works miracles. Yes, we are called to live by faith. But let us not try to make the Scriptures say what GOD does not say. Living by faith means following GOD’s principles, instructions, and guidance. It does not mean mismanaging one’s finances while expecting money to suddenly and miraculously appear in one’s bank account. The question isn’t so much how much prices will rise or fall. It’s whether we’ll be ready when it happens. If, in ten years, the university or private school you want your children to attend raises its tuition, will you be ready? If, in three years, that idea, product, software, invention, or business were to be created, would you be ready? You want to build a villa, a school, a hospital, or an orphanage. If in five years the opportunity arises to buy a good piece of land—large and well-located—will you be ready? If you aren’t, others will be. Some projects can be launched with just a little money. Others require significant sums right from the start. GOD calls you by your name (Isaiah 45:3-5): the name of your destiny, the name of His covenant, the name of His promises, the name of CHRIST. The wind of GOD is blowing in your direction and in your favour. It will lift up tents, but it will not knock yours down. You will rest in His presence and rise up filled with His strength. An embargo is lifted and a wall is crumbling. A giant has fallen, two others are falling after him. A palm tree is planted and a grove springs up around it. It will be as tall as a bamboo and have the roots of a baobab. May GOD open doors for you, grant you creativity, skill and discernment. May you receive the ability to plant, to innovate and to restore. ❖ In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God’s grace 8that he lavished on us. (Romans 3:23-24, NKJV) ❖ Jesus said to him, “If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes.” Immediately the father of the child cried out and said with tears, “Lord, I believe; help my unbelief!” (Mark 9:23-24, NKJV) Through the article on the consequences of unforgiveness, we have come to understand that a lack of forgiveness is destructive and can lead to death. If we want to be free, restored and made in the image of CHRIST, forgiveness is essential. We have 21 reasons to forgive. Forgiving allows GOD to heal us, restore us and take vengeance on our behalf. It is to our advantage to leave vengeance and retribution to Him. Last week, we studied the differences between regret, guilt and repentance. We clearly understood that simply feeling regret is not enough. We must not fall into the trap of guilt. We must rely on GOD and repent. Often, the person we need to forgive is oneself. Those who receive God’s forgiveness forgive themselves. To receive God’s forgiveness is to believe what He says and to repent. He restores those who confess and repent (1 John 1:9, 2 Peter 3:9). He allows Himself to be found by those who seek Him (Jeremiah 29:13-14). He comes to the aid of the faith of those who call upon Him (Mark 9:23-24, Matthew 7:7). He loves everyone, he paid the price for everyone and desires the salvation of everyone (Ephesians 1:7-8, 1 John 2:2, 2 Corinthians 5:2, Romans 3:23-24). Everyone, everyone, everyone and again everyone without exception. Whoever repents is forgiven. Whoever abides (walks) in CHRIST is restored. You are forgiven as soon as you repent. Restoration is a process (which takes time), but forgiveness is immediate. If you are still struggling to accept this, say: ‘LORD, help me. I cannot do this on my own.’ Then, take the time to read, listen (to an audio Bible) and regularly repeat to yourself verses about forgiveness, restoration and God’s faithfulness. Keep doing this until they resonate in your heart. Forgiveness is a conscious and deliberate decision (made without coercion) to let go of feelings of resentment or vengeance towards a person, organisation or group that has wronged you, regardless of whether they deserve it or not, and regardless of whether they repent or not. It is choosing, intentionally, no longer to be dominated, influenced or manipulated by negative feelings such as resentment, hatred, bitterness, grudges or pain. It is choosing to have, express and demonstrate, towards those who have wronged us, feelings, attitudes and behaviours that reflect the image of CHRIST. For example, respect, kindness, compassion, generosity, patience, honour, politeness, integrity, etc. We have seen what forgiveness is not and know that we can forgive and still file a complaint. Those who forgive themselves do not accept false blame, do not deny the facts, and do not shirk their responsibilities. There is no forgiveness in denial, nor in false accusations. It is necessary to acknowledge the facts (reality), to be aware of what one has done, what one has not done, and, where applicable, the consequences. One must not accept responsibility that is not one’s own. One must not believe oneself responsible for what was beyond one’s control. We are not masters of time and circumstances. We are responsible for how we act in the face of circumstances during the time granted to us. We are not responsible for the actions of the devil, demons, and those who collaborate with them. We are responsible for our attitude towards others, not for their actions (parents remain responsible for their minor children). I would like to say to someone who suffered trauma or witnessed a tragedy as a child that it was not your fault. A child is not responsible for the actions, reactions and feelings of adults. Forgiving oneself means letting go of self-resentment and showing compassion towards oneself. Letting go of self-resentment means ceasing to be angry with oneself. It means ceasing to entertain negative thoughts about oneself. To show compassion is to recognise another person’s suffering, to care about it, and to act kindly to help them. Compassion is empathy accompanied by one or more actions to help the person who is suffering or to alleviate their suffering. Empathy comes first, then the desire to help, and finally the action. Empathy is the ability to understand another person’s pain as if it were one’s own. Showing compassion towards oneself means acknowledging one’s suffering, one’s need for help, and showing kindness towards oneself. How can we forgive ourselves? How can we free ourselves from guilt (whether real or imagined)? The answers: through confession, truth, communion with the HOLY SPIRIT, and divine intervention. The first step is to confess to GOD that you harbour resentment and/or feel guilty towards yourself. Next, acknowledge that you need to forgive yourself and say out loud (or silently, if you are unable to speak) that you forgive yourself. You must tell GOD that you need His help, that you cannot do this on your own. If you are angry, sad, exhausted or afraid, tell Him. It doesn’t need to be eloquent or long. But it must be true. As long as you are sincere and use your own words, that’s fine. If demons are stirring up your feelings, confessing to GOD is necessary for your deliverance. GOD meets us where we are to lead us to where we ought to be. GOD wants to help you, but will not force Himself upon you. You must allow Him to intervene. You must declare with your own mouth that you want to follow Him, that you entrust yourself to Him, and that you accept His process. Trust in GOD; He will not let you down. Hold on to JESUS’s hand. The second and third steps take place simultaneously. The third step is to remain true (sincere), to spend quality time together, to talk to him, and to ask him questions. The second is to nourish yourself with the truth. Then, receive the truth from GOD: His interpretation of the facts and His will. This stage is the longest and takes place alongside the third stage. There is power in the truth. There is power in knowing and proclaiming the truth. ‘ For with you is the fountain of life; in your light we see light.’ (Psalms 36:9) “You will know the truth, and the truth will made you free.” (John 8:32) The truth you hear (and understand) is the one you believe. The truth (rhéma) you receive is the one you proclaim and the one that renews your mind. The one you proclaim is the one that comes to pass in your life. The one that renews your mind. This word enables you to ask forgiveness for your wrongs, to turn the page, to obey GOD, regardless of others’ attitudes, whilst awaiting the complete restoration of your soul. This word enables you to accept that what comes next will be better. I want to say to someone: One day you will stop crying. One day, you will laugh out loud. One day, communion with GOD will be enough for you. One day, it won’t hurt to talk about it anymore. One day, the shame will cease. One day the guilt will be gone. One day the anger will be gone. One day, the new version of you (the restored version) will say with a smile, Glory and thanks to GOD my FATHER, to JESUS my big brother and to the HOLY SPIRIT my guardian! Even in His permissive will, GOD is good and He works all things together for my good. The LORD avenges in His own time and in His own way. His greatest vengeance is my salvation, my restoration, my destiny and my reward in heaven. Divine intervention depends entirely on GOD. He alone knows where and when. GOD intervenes at every stage, continuously. The fourth seals the previous stages. It can happen at any time. One morning or one night when you wake up, during a spiritual encounter, a church service or an online service, when you’re at the gym, reading a book, watching a film, during a conversation, listening to a testimony, etc. I’ve placed it in the fourth stage because that’s the most common order. But exceptions do exist. I could compare this stage to a new birth. Some have heard the Gospel and then come to CHRIST. Others have encountered JESUS (through dreams or encounters), and then gone on to read the Gospel. A personal experience: After the death of one of my younger brothers, I couldn’t come to terms with my grief. I was filled with a false sense of guilt. I became depressed and had suicidal thoughts. One afternoon, I had a vision of a hand reaching out towards me. Then I heard JESUS say to me: " Will you accept my help? Will you take my hand? I cannot help you if you do not accept my help. The HOLY SPIRIT cannot heal you if you do not read the Scriptures. The spirit of your brother is in heaven." His words gave me peace for a few days, but they were not enough. I had to follow the process: confess, read, meditate and receive communion. It was only by following the process that I was freed from guilt and my soul began to be restored. It didn’t happen overnight; it took time. It took a long, long time. Yet it was JESUS who had spoken. Not only had he spoken to me, he had also shown me my brother. My younger brother Yohan passed away in March 2015, the week after his twenty-second birthday. In May 2015, GOD revealed His plans for my life to me. One of these was my association Partage Ton Rhema (meaning share your rhema). In May 2015, I was free from guilt, but my soul had not yet been restored. Six months after my brother’s death, a cousin whom I loved like a brother passed away. He died just a few hours after I spoke to him on the phone. Unlike my little brother, he was in very good health. He died of a cardiac arrest whilst on the phone with his friends. Six months later, an aunt whom I cherished passed away from cancer. The false guilt has been weighing heavily on my soul. I’d like to tell someone that just because it takes time doesn’t mean it won’t work. What you do with your pain, your resentment, your memories, and that feeling is more important than what caused it. Choosing JESUS means letting GOD speak to you, guide you, set you free, heal you, restore you, protect you and avenge you. Repentance is better than regret. You did what you could, what you thought was right based on what you knew and the person you were. Now it is time to move forward. GOD has plans of peace for you. You are forgiven as soon as you repent. Who are you not to forgive yourself? The One who shed His blood for you forgives you. Who, then, are you not to forgive yourself? In the name of what would you deny yourself forgiveness? In the name of your own righteousness? Are you more righteous than GOD? In the name of fairness? What do you know that GOD does not know? Let the HOLY SPIRIT help you. Not having visions or encounters does not mean that GOD is not with you. GOD speaks in different ways at different times. GOD is in His Word, and the Word is worth more than visions. If you find it difficult to read the Word, listen to it. Ask GOD to give you verses to meditate on. Start with one verse. Ask Him for a song inspired by that verse. After that, listen to testimonies (or biographies), read a book or blog posts, and listen to messages. Turn your free time into times of edification. GOD will turn them into times of deliverance and restoration. (Proverbs 19:20, NKJV) ❖ " Wealth gotten by vanity shall be diminished: but he that gathereth by labour shall increase." (Proverbs 13: 11, KJV) ❖ (1 Timothy 6:9-10, AMP) : " 9 But those who [are not financially ethical and] crave to get rich [with a compulsive, greedy longing for wealth] fall into temptation and a trap and into many foolish and harmful desires that plunge people into ruin and destruction [leading to personal misery]. 10 For the love of money [ philarguria, Strong n° 5365, Greek] [that is, the greedy desire for it and the willingness to gain it unethically] is a root of all sorts of evil, and some by longing for it have wandered away from the faith and pierced themselves [through and through] with many sorrows. Honesty and integrity are valuable qualities. Honesty means telling the truth without any intention to deceive or mislead (sincerity). Integrity means being true to one’s moral values (in words and deeds), regardless of the circumstances, both in private and in public. A person of integrity is not content merely to be honest or sincere. They strive to be fair in their actions, decisions, and words. The world would be a better place if all human beings were honest and had integrity. Unfortunately, this is not the case and never will be. There will always be dishonest people, ready to resort to all sorts of deception and scams (fraudulent schemes) to enrich themselves. Fraud is the act of, through the use of a false identity, a false title, fraudulent schemes, or the misuse of a title (qualifications, degrees, positions), to deceive a person (individual or entity) in order to cause that person or a third party material or financial harm, resulting from the transfer of funds or property in exchange for goods or services. There are several types of fraud. Rollover is a financial process in which new loans or fundraising efforts are continuously used to repay previous loans or fundraising efforts. The system collapses when the borrower is unable to secure yet another loan or raise yet another round of funds. Derived from rollover, one of the most common scams is the pyramid sales system, commonly known as the Ponzi scheme, also referred to as a Ponzi chain, Ponzi fraud, or Ponzi pyramid. Ponzi is the name of the Italian swindler (Charles Ponzi, 1882–1949), known for having devised the first and largest chain of fraud in the United States in the years 1919–1920. The technique existed before him; he did not invent it. His scheme had such a negative impact that people named it after him. The creator of the scheme solicits money from an initial group of investors, promising astronomical, abnormally high returns. Then, he convinces a second group of investors or asks the first group to recruit new investors or members in exchange for commissions, increased returns, or the provision of a special service. The money from the second group is used to pay the interest, commissions, and/or dividends of the first group, and so on. The alleged investment may involve various areas: the sale of raw materials, the purchase and resale of products, the sale of vintage wines or works of art, stock market speculation, the purchase of cryptocurrencies, investment in solar energy, the discovery of mining sites in poor countries, etc. The scammer creates an appearance of credibility through: Attention to detail (luxury cars, photos in popular locations with well-known people). The provision of services (investment training, personalized customer service). A partnership or membership—whether fictitious or real—in a group, company, or organization. The growing number of clients, their testimonials, and the fame of certain individuals (celebrity clients or influencers paid to promote the scam). Profits do not come from sales, but from recruiting new members. The scheme collapses when the scammer runs out of cash: they can no longer find new investors, they spend too much of the money they’ve collected, investors want their initial investment back, and authorities or banks freeze transactions and bank accounts. When new participants become scarce, the scammer flees with the remaining money. Investors or customers who have not withdrawn their money lose it. Even when authorities put an end to the scam or manage to arrest the scammers, the money is never fully reimbursed. In some countries, if the early investors (those who received the large returns) are identified, they are required to return all or part of their gains. But that is not enough to compensate for the losses. One of the biggest scams is the Bernard Madoff case, which came to light in 2008, resulting in losses of over $65 billion. There is also the OneCoin case, which came to light in 2017, resulting in losses of over $4 billion and affecting more than 3 million victims across four continents. Not all Ponzi schemes steal billions of US dollars, but significant sums are stolen every year, including in poor countries. Recently in Cameroon, scammers stole more than 20 billion CFA francs. Their company, presented as a subsidiary of an American firm, offered investments in solar energy with returns of 95% per day. Apart from the accomplices of the scammer, there are two types of people in a Ponzi scheme: those who know it’s a scam and those who don’t. The first are opportunists with no ethics or moral values. They want to be the first to sign up so they can make as much money as possible. They don’t care about the curses they are exposing themselves and their descendants to. The second group consists of those who have been deceived. I wrote this article to help us avoid falling into the second category. Here are some tips: There is no such thing as zero risk. But deception can certainly be avoided. Ask GOD to help you and listen to your inner voice. Greed and the lure of quick profits lead many to their downfall. GOD enriches gradually. GOD is neither slow nor fast. The speed at which you acquire knowledge, wisdom, character, and vision is the speed at which He will enrich you. God does not need to steal from others to enrich you. He does not need dishonest methods to enrich you. Just because you have received a prophecy saying you will become a multimillionaire does not mean you should rush into the first offer and invest all your savings. Ask yourself on what the offer or promise of profit is based. Is there a real product or service capable of legally generating that much money? If you need new investors to generate or withdraw profits, that’s not normal. Do the training sessions offered really add value? Do you actually learn anything, or is it just a sales pitch to convince you to invest? If the presentations, discussions, and training sessions are only there to attract new clients or investors, it’s not worth it. Is the company legitimate? Is it possible to verify its information? Have you checked the email address and the physical addresses listed on the contract? Do not engage in what you do not understand. The majority is not always right. Any offer that asks you to pay fees or purchase insurance in order to withdraw your money or your earnings is a scam. Banks and investment firms deduct fees from the amounts they receive. Be aware that not every opportunity is right for you. Don’t take excessive risks for fear of missing out on an opportunity. GOD will guide you towards what is right for you. Some people excel in property, others in fish farming, cryptocurrencies, stock market investments, and so on.

(Psaumes 103:20-22, NKJV) Different Ranks and Roles The angels (of GOD) are spirits created by GOD to carry out His will. They have various ranks and functions. They serve GOD in heaven, on earth, and in every place where GOD sends them. Some constantly travel back and forth between heaven and earth (John 1:51). They act within the limits of their function, their position (rank), the word of the LORD, and the directives or authorizations received from GOD. Examples (Daniel 9:21–27, Daniel 10:12–14): The archangel Gabriel explains to Daniel the visions he received from the LORD. He tells Daniel that for 21 days, he was prevented from coming by the prince of the kingdom of Persia. He added that for 21 days he was with the kings of Persia and the archangel Michael came to his aid. The ruler of the kingdom of Persia commands the kings of Persia. The ruler of the kingdom of Persia’s objective was to prevent the message from reaching Daniel, to steal it if possible, and above all to prevent the fulfillment of Daniel’s prayers. Gabriel delivered the message. Michael fought. (Daniel 10:15-21): A figure in human form appeared to Daniel while he was with the archangel Gabriel. This figure was JESUS before his coming to earth. He told Daniel that the archangel Michael was fighting alongside him against the ruler of the Kingdom of Persia and would fight alongside him against the ruler of the Kingdom of Greece. The rulers are accompanied by their forces. The ruler of the Kingdom of Persia was accompanied by the kings of Persia. The archangel Michael is accompanied by the angels of his brigade. Side note: Generally speaking, in the Old Testament, when it is written “the angel of the LORD” (definite article), it refers to JESUS. When it is written “an angel” (indefinite article), it refers to an angel in the ordinary sense. For example, JESUS is the angel of the LORD whom Moses saw in the burning bush (Exodus 3:2-4). As we saw in the article, JESUS CHRIST: Eternal, Angel of the LORD, and GOD the LORD, He was already the SON before a physical body was formed for Him by the HOLY SPIRIT. (Deuteronomy 34:5–6, Jude 1:9, Revelation 12:7–9): The first passage tells us that after Moses died, the LORD buried his body in a place unknown to men. The second text tells us that Satan tried to steal Moses’ body from the archangel Michael. It was therefore the archangel Michael who buried Moses’ body. The archangel did not insult the devil. He focused on his mission and said to him: “May the LORD rebuke you.” The third text informs us that Satan and his angels were defeated by Michael and his angels. The archangel Michael is capable of defeating Satan. But he fights only when GOD authorizes him to do so. His goal is not to demonstrate his strength, but to fulfill his mission. Some angels are warriors, others are sentinels (guardians), protectors, messengers (including teachers), healers, and helpers to humans. All are worshippers of the LORD. All know JESUS CHRIST and acknowledge Him as LORD (1 John 4:1–3). GOD desires the salvation of humanity, their restoration (healing), their consecration (turning away from sin, obeying GOD, and serving others), their restoration, and their multiplication. He desires the stewardship, good use, multiplication, and right distribution of resources. Angels serve GOD by helping us, so that His will may be done. They glorify GOD, convey and carry out His words. Occasionally, they appear to people and communicate with them. Examples To announce a prophecy, convey a message, offer encouragement, give instruction, or provide an explanation (Acts 8:26, Acts 27:23-24, Matthew 1:20). To announce the birth of JESUS CHRIST, His coming, and His return (Luke 1:26-33, Luke 2:8-14, Acts 1:11, Matthew 13:49-50, Matthew 25:31, 2 Thessalonians 1:7, Revelation 19:14). Assisting JESUS CHRIST (Matthew 13:49-50, Matthew 25:31, 2 Thessalonians 1:7, Revelation 19:14). Side note🙂 The archangel Michael is often with JESUS. He assists JESUS (in the sense of serving). He does not protect JESUS. JESUS is GOD. GOD is Omnipotent and All-Powerful. JESUS CHRIST has resurrected; He is no longer subject to human limitations and those of the physical world. The archangel Michael certainly served as a bodyguard (from the conception of the physical body in Mary’s womb to the crucifixion), but this is no longer the case today. To carry out a command, to execute a judgment of GOD (1 Chronicles 21:15, 2 Chronicles 32:21, Acts 12:23, Revelation 8:5, Revelation 9:15, Revelation 16:1). To gather the elect at the return of CHRIST (Matthew 24:31). To warn, escort, accompany, and bring to safety (Genesis 19:1-22). To preserve from danger, save, protect, and accompany (Acts 12:7, Acts 12:11, Psalm 91:11-12, Zechariah 1:8-11). To provide for physical needs (1 Kings 19:5-7). Heal (John 5:4) Deliver from an unclean spirit. We know that demons can cause illnesses. We also know that angels can heal sick bodies. By extension, they can deliver bodies from unclean spirits. Angels cannot heal souls. Only GOD heals souls. Points to Clarify: Praying to angels (idolatry) ❖ Now I, John, saw and heard these things. And he who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and manifest Myself to him.” Praying to angels is idolatry. There is no valid excuse. The Bible is very clear on this subject. Either we read the Bible, or we don’t. Catholics, for example, claim that angels relay their prayers to GOD. This is completely false. Angels refuse to be worshiped by humans (Revelation 22:8-9). They are neither omniscient, nor omnipresent, nor omnipotent. They do not answer prayers; they carry out the answered prayers. They do not tell GOD what to do; they do what GOD tells them to do. They carry out GOD’s will. They convey GOD’s words. They do not inform GOD. GOD is Omniscient and Omnipresent. They do not bring people’s prayers to GOD. On the contrary, GOD asks them to convey His answers to our prayers to us. Angels appear when GOD permits it (2 Kings 6:17). They do not decide to appear. They appear when they are permitted to do so. How can some people think that they decide whether to listen to, convey, or answer our prayers? To direct prayers to angels is to worship them. They have never been appointed as intercessors for humanity. Only JESUS CHRIST and the HOLY SPIRIT can intercede for us and with us (Romans 8:26, Romans 8:34). Through His Word, GOD never ceases to tell us that He loves us, that He has plans for our peace! The FATHER gave His only Son for us. He gave what was most precious to Him! JESUS gave His life for our salvation. You don’t do that for something or someone who isn’t important. How can some people believe that after doing that, He is too busy to listen to us and intervene in our lives? How can one read the Bible and worship angels? How can one be a disciple of CHRIST and promote what He condemns? Being a Christian is not a privilege granted by GOD. On the contrary, it is a privilege, an undeserved grace that GOD grants us. The one who inspires people to pray to angels is the devil. Either we read the Bible, or we don’t. Either we love JESUS, or we don’t. Either we choose repentance, or we choose idolatry and false doctrines. b. Commanding angels (false doctrine) ❖ And of the angels He says : “Who makes His angels spirits And His ministers a flame of fire. (Hebrews 1:7, NKJV) ❖ Are not all angels spirits in the service of God, sent to help those who are to inherit salvation? (Hebrews 1:7, NKJV) ❖ And Elisha prayed, and said, “Lord, I pray, open his eyes that he may see.” Then the Lord opened the eyes of the young man, and he saw. And behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha. (2 Kings 6:17, NKJV) Angels are servants of GOD, sent here and there from time to time to offer help. They are His angels, His servants. They do only His will, not ours. They belong to GOD and to GOD alone. They do not take orders from human beings. Whether one has a deep, high-pitched, soprano, mezzo-soprano, contralto, countertenor, tenor, baritone, or bass voice makes no difference. Elisha did not ask the angels to appear to his servant. He prayed to GOD to open his servant’s eyes. GOD answered his prayer, and his servant saw. We see angels when GOD allows it, not when we want to. Satan and one-third of the angels rebelled (Hebrews 12:22, Revelation 9:1, Revelation 12:3–9). By extension, two-thirds of the angels remained faithful to GOD. Satan failed to deceive them, intimidate them, or command them. It is arrogant to think that we command them. They are under the authority of CHRIST. I do not know on what basis those who claim to command angels base their claims. What I do know is that, biblically and doctrinally, this is false. We do not command the angels. There is no example, no verse, and no biblical principle indicating that angels are at our command. Yes, we have the name of JESUS, which is above every name. But the angels are already under the authority of CHRIST. We are not their leaders. Either we pretend to read the Bible, or we actually read the Bible. Either we choose repentance, or we choose idolatry and false doctrines. c. Calling upon/activating angels (misuse of language or false doctrine) ❖ (John 14:21, NKJ) : " He who has My commandments and keeps them, it is he who loves Me. Bless the Lord, O my soul! Personally, I don't like the phrases “calling on the angels” and “activating the angels.” I don't use them. I strongly advise against using them. I realize that meanings can vary from person to person. I prefer to avoid phrases that might cause confusion and unnecessary arguments. (Ezekiel 22: 30, NKJV) To deploy, amplify, or strengthen the ministry of angels is to pray that they may fully exercise their ministry. Simply saying that angels are activated does not activate them. Before our birth, angels were already ministering. After our death, they will continue to do so. Angels obey GOD, His commands, and His Word. They praise and glorify GOD. They help us fulfill our destiny. Consequently, they are deployed, and their ministry is amplified/strengthened when we pray in the right way, honor GOD and His Word, testify of CHRIST, manifest CHRIST, exercise the authority of CHRIST, when we repent, exercise our gifts, obey GOD, etc. In short, they are deployed, and their ministry is amplified/strengthened when we do what GOD expects of us. It is not only prayer that strengthens the ministry of angels. JESUS did not say that He leaves us the angels. He said: I baptize you with the HOLY SPIRIT, I leave you my word, I leave you my name, I leave you my peace, and I send you to the ends of the earth. Let us do our part; GOD will ensure that the angels do theirs. A single article would not be enough to recount all my personal experiences. Two examples seem sufficient for this article. I would like to remind you that the devil and his angels sometimes try to disguise themselves as angels of God (2 Corinthians 11:13–15). We must exercise discernment. Experience 1 (April 2014) I was praying in my room. I don't remember the subject of my prayer, but I do remember it was a prayer of authority. Suddenly, I had a vision. An angel was sitting on a chair, near a table on a balcony. He was relaxing. It looked as if he were on vacation. He was admiring the view and enjoying the fresh air. This vision aroused astonishment and annoyance in me. I whispered to the Holy Spirit, " I am praying in faith about an important matter. Why am I having a vision of an angel who is doing nothing? What good does it do me to see that an angel is taking a break or on vacation? " The Holy Spirit answered me, " Regarding this matter, you are not praying in the right way. Pray with the Scriptures." I changed my way of praying. I took Bible verses to heart. I argued with verses. I stopped asking God to do things. I declared the Word. I declared what I knew God wanted. I proclaimed Jesus' victory and his reign. While I prayed, I kept seeing this angel before me, as if my prayer was competing with his attitude. After a while, I saw this angel get up, go into a room, and come downstairs dressed in military uniform. I jumped for joy, thanking the Holy Spirit! This angel turned, looked at me with a smile, and disappeared. Experience 2 (September 2020) One evening, at home, after a time of intercession, I wanted to watch the news on TV. I wanted to know the latest news from a specific country and region. I was looking for the remote control when an angel appeared to me, walking toward me. He said to me, “We need help; ask the FATHER for reinforcements.” Then he turned around and disappeared. I began to pray in tongues. I don’t know how long it was, but at least an hour. After a while, this angel reappeared. This time, he didn’t speak. He looked at me and nodded twice in affirmation, to let me know that the reinforcements had arrived. Then he disappeared. I was about to give thanks to the LORD and stop praying. But a conviction arose in my heart to continue praying for another hour. This time, I was no longer praying in tongues, but with my mind. Prayer 1 FATHER, thank you for this meal. May it be sanctified and be good for my body. Amen Prayer 2 Thank you, FATHER, for this meal. May it be holy for our bodies, cleansed of all physical and spiritual impurities. May we eat without wasting, content with what we need. May our homes honour you, proclaim your praise and bear witness to JESUS CHRIST. Amen. Prayer 3 FATHER, thank you for this meal. Thank you for the hands that prepared it, carried it, and helped bring it to our table. May this meal be sanctified and do our bodies good. It is saying what GOD says, what GOD has said, or interpreting what GOD shows (vision, dream). Either we announce an event or a future fact on behalf of GOD, or we indicate a specific will of GOD. In short, it is conveying a message from GOD. GOD is the one who inspires the message, sends the messenger, confirms the message, and fulfills the message.🙂 The purpose of prophecy is neither to predict the future nor to give us information. It is to help us manage the present well and reach GOD's future. More precisely, it is to help us make the right decisions, have the right preparation and attitude, and avoid the devil's traps. GOD asks us not to despise prophecies, but to examine them and retain only what is good. (1 Thessalonians 5:20-21, 1 John 4:1, 1 Corinthians 14:3). That which edifies, enlightens, exhorts, comforts, and leads to repentance. For not all prophecies are inspired by GOD. There are false prophecies. The person conveying the message may be mistaken and may not convey the message faithfully. They may add their own words. The fact that a person has a title (prophet, apostle, etc.), good intentions, or a good reputation does not automatically mean that all the words they speak are inspired by GOD. Even if this were the case, it does not mean that the recipients are the same. We are prophets of our own lives (1 Peter 2:9, Revelation 1:6). But even when we prophesy about ourselves, there is no such thing as zero risk. We can be wrong, and others can be wrong. There are people who prophesy their desires, their lusts, and their opinions. There are people who indiscriminately repeat what they have heard others say. There are those who say what they have been asked to say. They get paid to prophesy and impress the crowd. There are people who do not know the difference between prayer and prophecy. There are people who prophesy under demonic inspiration (divination and witchcraft). Discerning a true prophecy from a false one means recognizing whether it is from GOD and whether it is for oneself or for someone else. There is not one way, but many ways to discern prophecies. I summarize them in seven tests. The first three are the most important. The test of conformity to Scripture and the model of CHRIST The test of the inner witness of the Holy Spirit and sometimes, associated with discernment by the spirit The test of fruit The test of time and reasoning or the test of inner examination The test of one or more external confirmations The test of supernatural signs and manifestations The test of time and fulfillment 🙂 The prophet conveys a message. His role is not to convince the recipient. When we receive letters, the mail carriers do not read them. They simply drop the mail into the mailbox. Sometimes we have to sign a receipt. But signing for a letter does not mean we agree with its contents. If we have questions or disagreements, we call the sender of the letter, our lawyer, or a loved one. The mail carrier may have the wrong address. People (individuals and companies) may write to us to introduce themselves and offer their services (sales pitches). Some offers will be immediately rejected or accepted. Others will be read and then rejected. Others will be read, studied, and then rejected or kept. Others will be read, studied, and then discussed with loved ones. It's a bit like that with prophecies. 1. The test of conformity to Scripture and the model of CHRIST ❖ (Deuteronomy 13:2-5, 2 Timothy 3:16, Galatians 1:8, Psalms 119:160, 1 Peter 1:25, John 14:6, John 17:17, Psalms 119:105, John 16:13-14, Acts 17:11, Hebrews 4:12). GOD is His Word. Any prophecy contrary to Scripture and the pattern of CHRIST is not inspired by GOD. No prophecy can change GOD, His will, His Word, His methods, His laws, or His principles. No prophecy has the authority to establish a new commandment, a new doctrine, or to replace GOD in our lives. Any prophecy that points to a redeemer other than JESUS, that does not glorify GOD, or that encourages acts or a lifestyle that the word condemns is to be rejected. GOD does not need to use the devil's methods. We have no prophecies to receive from those who do not honor GOD. GOD may speak to them, but that does not mean they are prophesying. GOD gave Pharaoh a dream, but it was Joseph who prophesied. It was Joseph to whom GOD gave the interpretation of the dream and the recommendations to follow (Genesis 41:14-39). GOD gave Nebuchadnezzar a dream, but it was Daniel who prophesied. It was Daniel to whom He gave the explanation of the dream (Daniel 2:1-47). I would like to take this opportunity to say to someone: Those who prophesy (including women) are not those who have dreams, but those to whom GOD gives the interpretation of dreams. The dream is only the channel for transmitting one or more pieces of information. There are those who have dreams, visions, and supernatural experiences. There are those who do not. We have no prophecy to receive from those who dishonor the word of GOD and treat others unworthily. There are no prophecies to receive from someone who asks for money, sex, food, or anything else in exchange for a prophecy. There is no prophecy to receive from someone who practices idolatry, homosexuality, ancestor worship, necromancy, demon worship, divination, and the like. There is no prophecy to receive from a person who constantly needs the congregation to tell him, "Prophesy!" I don't care about that person's title, age, fame, or charitable works. You cannot be a messenger for someone you dishonor. You cannot edify, exhort, and comfort those you treat unworthily. 2. The test of the inner witness of the HOLY SPIRIT and sometimes, associated with discernment by the spirit ❖ (John 14:17, John 16:12-13, Psalms 84:4-6, Psalms 119:105, 1 John 4:1-3, 2 Peter 1:21, 1 Corinthians 12:10, John 16:8, Romans 8:16, 1 Corinthians 13:9, Proverbs 16:2, Proverbs 16:7) We are under no obligation to say amen every time someone prophesies. We are under no obligation to listen to everyone who prophesies. Don't say amen just to please someone. This is your life. The inner witness lets you know if a prophecy is really for you. The inner witness approves (inner peace) or disapproves (absence of peace) of a decision, direction, word, or proposal. Inner witness is not always instantaneous. You need to give yourself time and pray. The Holy Spirit will bear witness at the right time. He will give you inner peace despite appearances, circumstances, and contrary opinions. The assurance that despite obstacles or the unknown, the goal will be achieved. The assurance that despite circumstances and appearances, this word is not for you. Until then, you must be calm, neutral, and patient. The inner witness does not replace the Scriptures. You should not ask for an inner witness for things that are clearly condemned in the Word. Sometimes the recipients of a prophecy do not recognize the inner witness. Often because they: They do not have a real relationship with GOD. They do not yet know how to listen to GOD or recognize the inner witness. They evaluate themselves instead of asking GOD. They reject the prophecy because they think it is impossible for it to come true. They feel incapable. They do not understand that GOD gives prophecy to initiate a process of preparation. Because of the passage of time, failures, trials, or the absence of precedent, they fear further disappointment. They are not neutral. The prophecy goes against their plans or against something they desire or covet. They presume that the prophecy is true or false without asking GOD. Examples: A teenager, an unbeliever, or a new convert about whom a prophecy says that he will be a famous person, a servant of GOD, a head of state, a businessman, etc. A woman called to ministry who has not yet understood that GOD equips those He calls. Zachariah's attitude toward the angel Gabriel when the latter tells him that his wife Elizabeth will bear a son (Luke 1:13-20). An unbeliever who is told that Jesus will return soon. The gift of discerning spirits is a spiritual gift. It is the ability to quickly, sometimes instantly, discern the spirit that inspires the person speaking. In addition, it allows one to know when it is an angel speaking, when it is the FATHER, JESUS, the HOLY SPIRIT, or their own spirit. This gift also allows one to discern and differentiate between the presence of an angel, JESUS, the HOLY SPIRIT, a demon, a demonic principality, Satan, or one of his workers. 3. The test of the fruit ❖ (Galatians 5:22-24, Matthew 7:15-16, Romans 8:15, Psalms 85:11-12, Corinthians 14:33, 2 Timothy 1:7) GOD has not given anyone the right to replace Him in your life. He has not given anyone the responsibility to hear Him on your behalf. We know in part and we prophesy in part (1 Corinthians 13:9). We are the fruit of our choices, our words, and our feelings (Proverbs 18:4, Proverbs 18:20-21, Ecclesiastes 8:4, Proverbs 10:21). A person may not listen to their inner testimony, but the fruit does not lie. The fruit is what the prophecy produces in you. Anything that gives rise to or sustains unhealthy desires, unhealthy plans, negative feelings (fear, hatred, pride, jealousy, covetousness, etc.) is not from GOD. Anything that implies or is accompanied by dependence on the person prophesying is not from GOD. It doesn't matter if the words are pleasant. If the fruit is not that of the HOLY SPIRIT (Galatians 5:22), that person is not sent by GOD to prophesy to you. A prophecy inspired by GOD will bring you closer to Him or warn you against sin. A prophecy inspired by GOD will encourage you to obey Him more, to trust Him more, to turn away from sin, etc. A testimony One day, during a prayer meeting, someone prophesied about me. This person had truly been inspired by GOD. She said things that I already knew. The prophecy included words of edification and specific direction. A few days later, someone called me to give me a similar prophecy. As soon as this person started talking, my heart grew cold. I was indifferent, annoyed, and uncomfortable listening to her words. Faced with my silence and lack of enthusiasm, she said that GOD would give me victory over my enemies. That He would respond to those who slandered me. People were indeed slandering me at the time. But her words annoyed me more and more. I felt tempted to curse certain people and wish misfortune upon them. Politely and calmly, I replied, "May only GOD's will be done. Excuse me, I have to leave you, I have something important to do." Offended by my attitude, this person began to compliment me. Then she said she was like me, called to be a prophetess. I interrupted her and wished her a good evening. Not once did I say amen to her words. I didn't give her the opportunity to pray for me. I hung up and continued doing what I was doing before her call. Side note I remind intercessors that God's only bias is His will. An intercessor prays for God's will to be done. Praying for Israel does not prevent us from praying for Palestine and Lebanon. Praying for Israel is not praying against Palestine and Lebanon. Praying for Israel is not limited to praying for Jews to recognize Jesus Christ. It also means praying for the leaders of that country to make good decisions. Regret is a feeling of sadness that a person experiences following the loss or absence of someone or something. Regret is not desiring what belongs to others or what has never been yours. It is wishing you had not lost, had not done, or had done. Those who have regrets have not necessarily committed a sin, done wrong, or caused harm to someone. It is possible, but it is not always the case. Regret can arise after: The death of a loved one, An unforeseen situation or an unexpected outcome, Realizing the consequences of an action or inaction, The realization of what one could have done, what one should have done, what one should not have done, or what one thinks one did not do enough of. In law, guilt is the state of someone who has committed a fault, an offense, or a crime. If guilt is proven or real, it is said to be established or that the person is guilty. If it is not or not yet proven, it is said to be presumed (based on opinions or appearances). In psychology, guilt is a negative judgment about oneself, a feeling of fault felt by a person for a real or imagined fault. Those who feel guilty condemn themselves and feel unworthy of one or more blessings, things, or people. Their gaze is fixed on the past. They judge themselves. Unconsciously, they think of themselves as GOD. Guilt arises from emotions, thoughts, and possibly feelings about oneself. Side note: Emotions are the reactions we have to thoughts or situations. Feelings are combinations of emotions, thoughts, and interpretations of memories (reasoning). Thoughts are the interpretations of our brain, the silent words that GOD speaks to us, or the silent words that the devil or demons speak to our soul. There are those who have done nothing wrong but feel responsible for the actions of others or feel that they have not done enough. Either they think they should be able to control everything, or they accept false accusations. Sometimes those affected have savior syndrome (a psychological disorder expressing a constant need to receive gratitude and recognition). Sometimes they are victims of emotional blackmail by those who do not acknowledge their wrongdoing or take responsibility for their actions. For example, a violent husband who tells his wife, "I am violent because we don't have children." There are those who are angry with themselves. Very often, they repeat to themselves, "I will never let this happen again. I will never do that again, say that again, talk about that again, or go there again. I will never listen to that person or that type of person again. I will never trust that kind of person, the Bible, a pastor, GOD, etc. again." Sometimes it's good to have "never again" moments. We all have them. We learn from our experiences and those of others. Some "never agains" are good, healthy, and necessary. The problem arises when we lack compassion for ourselves, when we don't differentiate between our responsibility, GOD's responsibility, and the responsibility of others. There are those who say to themselves, "There's no point in changing my behavior. The damage is already done. The past cannot be changed. The person who mattered is no longer there or is already dead, etc." They have no hope for the future. They live expecting to be punished. Some go so far as to inflict physical punishment on themselves or deny themselves opportunities. The people concerned destroy themselves and/or are oppressed by demons. There are those who are proud, selfish, and refuse to admit that they have done wrong. They minimize their mistakes or the consequences of their faults. The image they want to project is that of an idol. They try to exceed their limits, to be perfect, to be the first (best) in all areas, to be close to people who are well-known, respected, and honored. They want to buy forgiveness and favors from GOD and men through their works. It is a way for them to say that what they have done is not so bad, that it is nothing compared to the good they do, have done, or the person they have become. They have no compassion for the victims (direct and collateral), nor love for those whom the devil wants or will want to trap like them. They allowed themselves to be seduced by the devil or demons. They may even go so far as to sell their souls to the devil. Repentance is turning away from evil and turning toward good. It is expressing sincere regret for a sin, a thought, a word, an act, or a fault, which translates into acknowledging one's wrongdoing, a change in behavior, and, as much as possible, the intention to correct, repair, protect, and prevent. Repentance is a decision followed by actions or a change in behavior. Those who repent look to the future. 9 signs of sincere and genuine repentance: Acknowledgment of the facts (before GOD and men) The manifest fruit of repentance: walking in newness of life. Willingness to recount the facts and confront one's words with the testimonies of others. Acceptance of personal responsibility without minimizing the offense, the hurt of the offended person, and without trying to blame others. Acceptance of personal responsibility without trying to justify it by the attitude of others or previous offenses. Willingness to answer for the facts before legally established authorities or courts. Respect for the decisions of legally established authorities and courts. Payment of damages and interest. Restitution of stolen or illegally held objects. Those who repent feel regret, but feeling regret does not necessarily mean repenting. Firstly, because those who repent have not necessarily sinned. Take, for example, a person who buys a plane ticket from a company recommended by their colleagues. Unfortunately, their trip goes badly: delays, poor service, unpleasant meals, and forgotten luggage. This person regrets choosing this company. But we cannot say that they have committed a sin (in the sense of doing something wrong). Secondly, someone who has regrets may regret not having done wrong. There are battles that GOD helps us win. There are battles that He wins for us when we obey, when we move forward in faith. ❖ (Exodus 13:17-18, NIV): "When Pharaoh let the people go, God did not take them by way of the land of the Philistines, even though that was the shorter route. For GOD said, 'The people might change their minds (they might come to regret it ) when they see war and return to Egypt.' So GOD led the people around by the way of the wilderness toward the Red Sea. The Israelites left Egypt in battle formation. GOD led the people of Israel through the desert. It was not the shortest route. He knew that if the people passed through the land of the Philistines, they would regret leaving Egypt. Some would have tried to return to Egypt. Others would have taken another direction. Others would have surrendered to the Philistines without a fight. Others would have fought without faith in GOD, without GOD's vision, without a conquering mentality, without being wholly devoted to GOD. Regret would have caused them to turn away from GOD and abandon the Promised Land. In other words, to forget GOD's promises. I would like to take this opportunity to say to someone that there are battles that cannot be won without preparation. The Greek word metamelomai, translated as "to be remorseful" or "to repent," appears five times in the Bible: 1 Peter 5:7, Matthew 21:32, Matthew 27:3, 2 Corinthians 7:8, and Hebrews 7:21. It is composed of two words: Meta [Strong 3326, Greek], which means with, after, behind. It appears 443 times in the Bible (New Testament). Melo [Strong 3199, Greek], which means to trouble, worry, or care for. Therefore, He does not need to repent, in the sense of turning away from evil to turn toward good. Judas returned the 30 pieces of silver and acknowledged that he had sinned. But he did not acknowledge his sin before GOD. He did not ask for forgiveness from GOD the FATHER, nor from JESUS, nor from the apostles. He did not go to the crowd to tell them that JESUS had done nothing wrong. He decided to hang himself. He did not face the consequences of his actions and did nothing to make amends. They distinguish between what was/is their fault and what is not. They do not try to replace GOD's words with their own reasoning. They meditate on what GOD says and do what GOD says. They move forward step by step with CHRIST. They become better people. Because they understand that their destiny is more important than their mistakes and faults. Guilt leads to death. Repentance leads to GOD. GOD being the source of life, repentance leads to life. "For with you is the fountain of life; in your light we see light." (Psalms 32:10) Guilt leads to self-destruction. GOD wants repentance, not guilt. He does not need anyone to judge in His place. He does not ask us to be perfect but to walk from progress to progress, with humility. He wants us to make repentance a way of life. Repentance is sorrow according to GOD because it leads to doing good. Repentance is not a passive attitude. GOD is not surprised by your mistakes. Some of your faults make you the right person to avoid committing more serious ones. Some of your mistakes make you the right person to help someone get back on their feet and prevent others from repeating them. You know how it feels. You've been there. You have been a victim of the devil, the world system, religion, traditions, false reasoning, prejudice, ignorance, low self-esteem, alcohol, excessive debt, sectarianism, persecution, etc. I want to tell someone that you don't have the right to be selfish and let the devil win. Not after what you've been through. Not after what you've endured. Not after JESUS rose from the dead. Not after salvation, grace, and mercy became available. Not after you heard the Gospel. Not after you know that history is repeating itself or will repeat itself elsewhere. Don't let the devil win! GOD gave us a conscience to differentiate between good and evil, not to be our GOD. Frankly, what interest would GOD have in making you feel guilty? None! Who is the one who wants us dead? The one who comes only to steal, kill, and destroy? GOD, who knows all things before the beginning, gave his only son for our salvation. Who are we to say that we are unworthy? So that you may know that I still love you and that your destiny is great. So that you may know that I will answer your prayer. When you are converted. When your repentance has borne fruit, strengthen others. Strengthen those who have fallen, those who might fall, and those who will fall. Because not repenting of a sin is worse than the sin itself. JESUS prayed for you too. GOD will not abandon you. Don't abandon Him either. Reject guilt. Do not feel guilty for a mistake or a fault you did not commit. Repent for the one you did commit and fulfill your destiny (you are in covenant with your fault as long as you do not repent). You will receive restoration of time and grace.
