7 tips to turn your unemployment into preparation (P.3)

Updated: Apr 21, 2023

Mwaramutze pioneer! Mwiriwe the one who speaks various languages.

Let pain knows that giving up is not an option. Let adversity knows that it will not shake your faith. Tell your soul, GOD alone is master of times and circumstances. May the faith of the pioneers, the discernment of the prophets, and the audacity of the evangelists be your share. Spare yourself unnecessary battles and empty speeches. Who you are becoming is more important than what you are going through. Those who need your testimony matter more than those who slander you. It will take as long as it takes, but hold on: Our FATHER is faithful.

Psalm 1 : 1:3 (Darby translation) "1 Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the wicked, and standeth not in the way of sinners, and sitteth not in the seat of scorners; 2 But his delight is in Jehovah's law, and in his law doth he meditates day and night. 3 And he [is] as a tree planted by brooks of water, which giveth its fruit in its season, and whose leaf fadeth not; and all that he doeth prospereth."

I'm sure you realize what a waste this time will be if you mismanage your time. Your victory and your next job are goals, but the end is your growth. Who you become matters more than what you are going through. You need to become a better version of yourself. Your victories are milestones of the great project that is your destiny. Your next job is a channel, an environment, in which GOD, will allow you to acquire, and increase, resources (knowledge, skills, finances, relationships).

GOD is Love, but He resides in Truth. He loves us with an eternal and unconditional love (Jeremiah 31: 3, Ephesians 2: 8). However, he asks us to ponder his Word (Joshua 1: 8; Psalms 1: 2; John 8:32; Colossians 1: 9; Colossians 4:16). We must receive the His Love and know his Truth. Love and Truth are not interchangeable, they are essential. His Love cannot substitute his Word. Likewise, his Word cannot replace his Love. Love is the hand that gives us the food which is the Word. A child can have the most loving mother, but if he is not fed, he will die. If he is malnourished, he will probably be sick. According to the UN, more than 10,000 children die of hunger and malnutrition every day. These children do not die because they are not loved. They die because they are not fed. Are you fed?

How many people in your country die each year from medical errors or drug poisoning? What good would medical equipment be if doctors don't know how to use it? What would a hospital be if cardiologists took the place of neurosurgeons or if all doctors were general practitioners? What would a medical center be without doctors, without equipment, without material, without medication, and without the other functions (finance, HR, logistics)? Who will take care of the sick if there is no nurse or caregiver? Where will doctors be trained if there is no Faculty of Medicine? How many patients will they be able to treat if they are understaffed? Who treats sick doctors? Who Fund Hospitals? These questions should get you thinking. You have to know your identity, then know your place, prepare to take your place, take your place, allow (help) others to take their place, and train others to take your place. This "place" is not "a" place, but successions of places, allowing you to occupy the ultimate place. I will come back to these points in detail in a future article.

Phase 1: Know your LORD and know yourself (read P.1)

1. Develop your fellowship: know the LORD and nourish your spirit

2. Do your inventory: Know yourself (Vision, Mission, Skill, gifts, talents).

Recognize the different ways GOD speaks to you and feed on his Word. If you never did it, I encourage you with the help of the DISC, to identify your profile. As I wrote earlier, "Knowing your destiny is good, but walk by the spirit is better."

Phase 2 : Know Your Rights and Duties: Neutralize Curses and Maximize Blessings

3. Neutralize curses

3.1 Break curses dues to your disobedience

3.2 Neutralize curses caused by the actions of others

4. Maximize your blessings: enrich your profile and take care of your vases

4.1 Ability: Character + Skills

* Identify the qualities to develop.

* Get your finances in order.

* Instruct yourself. As much as possible be bilingual.

4.2 Opportunity: Distance + Location + Time

* Challenge yourself

* Start with what you can do today and now.

4.3 Desire: Motivations + Aspiration

* You make choices out of conviction (interior testimony) and out of obedience to GOD.

* you are looking for a job to build a vision and not just to acquire goods.

In this phase, you realize that your destiny, this vision, or this project will not be accomplished without your commitment. GOD can do everything, but he will not do everything without you. The devil was defeated, but he is not dead. You must pray by leaning on the Word and walk in the newness of life. Faith is not just waiting for GOD to do. Faith is preparing yourself for what GOD will do. You are looking for a job to build a vision and not just to acquire goods. While looking for a job, you acquire a skill, you train in a field (MOOC, books, YouTube), you do freelance or jobbing. You can also offer your services on a voluntary basis in an association. In my article 10 Tips for Preparing for a Job Interview, I wrote that skill is what you can do. It is a combination of your knowledge or skills (what you know), your experiences (your know-how), and your soft skills.

Don't wait until you have money to learn how to invest. Find out now. What are the opportunities, conditions, and risks (remunerated savings, stock market purchase, cryptocurrency, crowdfunding, real estate, small business, agricultural farm, investment funds, etc). We won't all be entrepreneurs, but we all can be investors. We can all diversify our sources of income. Saving is good, investing part of your savings wisely is better. I like to remind those who confuse "money" with "the love of money" that the very famous international association The Gideons was founded by businessmen, not by preachers. The very famous Robert Gilmour LeTourneau (1888 –1969), was an inventor, mechanic, and businessman before being an evangelist.

Phase 3 : Take care of yourself and others

5. Contributes to the expansion of the kingdom: Intercede, serve, give

"who desires that all men should be saved and come to [the] knowledge of [the] truth." (1 Timothy 2:4)

You have met the LORD because, since the early church, men and women have refused and refuse to be silent and do nothing. Some at the cost of their lives. You have access to teachings, books, activities in your local church because many people have chosen and choose to give of their time, gifts, talents, resources so that others are saved, fed, healed, and issued. You too, do what you can best for others to be saved.

You can intercede for your family, your church, a ministry, your friends, your city, the persecuted church, an NGO, an orphanage, an association, a servant or servant of GOD, etc. If it is not already used in a church, a ministry, or a Christian association. Maybe it's time to join an evangelistic group or volunteer. GOD revealed to me my destiny long before I joined a local church. But It's by serving that many have discovered their calling, their gifts, and even taken the first steps in their professional reconversion. I encourage you to tithe (Why I give tithes) but I won't judge you if you don't. Regardless, it will always be good to give for the expansion of the kingdom, the spread of the gospel, and acts of compassion. Give with joy and without regret what you can.

"... remember the words of the LORD JESUS, that He himself said, It is more blessed to give than to receive." (Acts 20:35, Darby)

I give primarily and not exclusively to Christian & Jewish organizations. Loyalty is no excuse to despise what GOD is doing elsewhere. Even less to refrain from contributing to it when He asks us to do so.

When I was a student, I lost a lot of money. I didn't know how to tell my parents, and I was worried that if I asked my cousins for help, they would find out. So I decided that for the next three months, my pocket money would be used to repay this amount. After the first month, I had nothing to eat. My reserves were exhausted. For two months, GOD fed me through food distributions from three associations. The first was Christian, the second Muslim, and the third secular. One of my brothers (now deceased) was disabled. Our parents could afford to buy wheelchairs for him, but not all families. The attachment to our churches and communities should never make us forget that GOD loves everyone equally without exception and He can use any charitable organization to do good to someone. I was that "someone". I give whenever the HOLY SPIRIT asks me to give: I obey. It's that simple.

6. Give yourself time and leisure

"JESUS said unto them, “Come ye yourselves apart into a desert place, and rest a while.”... " (Mark 6:31)

"To everything, there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven." (Ecclesiastes 3:1, Darby translation)

There is no fulfillment in imbalance. GOD is more than a good father, He is the perfect father. He wants us to be fully developed and balanced (Healthy in all aspects). Teacher Joyce Meyer has a habit of saying "Enjoying Everyday Life". It is not a sin to have leisure. From time to time, watch a good movie, a documentary, a report, a competition (disabled sports, sports, cooking, etc). Be careful, being unemployed is not an excuse to mismanage your time, answer all the invitations, or try anything. Choose healthy and edifying hobbies.

7. Give time to your loved ones and separate yourself from bad companies

"If there be any that provideth not for his own, and namely for them of his household, he denieth the faith, and is worse than an infidel." (1 Timothy 5:8, GNV)

If you don't spend time with dear ones when you're out of a job, you'll have a hard time doing it when you get a job. There are people who love you for what you have. Others for what you could do for them. But there are also some who love you or will love you for simply who you are. You don't know the day of your departure just like theirs. Don't put off good times until tomorrow. If you can't meet them, you can make group calls. However, do not require them to be with you all the time because you are unemployed and don't know what to do with your time.

"Do not be deceived: “Bad company corrupts good morals.” (1 Corinthians 15:33, AMP)

It says "bad companies" and not "bad people". Except in the case of witchcraft, bewitchment, or demonic influence, a "bad person" has influence over you only to the extent of the time and attention you give him (her). Bad companies are not always bad people. They are people whose attitudes, habits, and words can negatively influence you. If you spend your time with those who expect the government to do everything, complain about everything and accuse the whole world of being racist, you won't get far. If you spend your time with those whose only ambition is to get married, you will not achieve your destiny. Choose carefully your companies.

🙂 You could have given up on phase 1 or contented yourself with phase 2. But here you are in phase 3. Congratulation! May the LORD reward your perseverance and your patience. May your resolutions meet success and may the doors of employment open before you.

Make everyday count!
