I asked for a word (Those little things #4)

ree

Ongaipi goodness! Omele yiwa benevolence! May GOD help your faith. May the peace of CHRIST be yours.

" And many nations shall come, and say, Come, and let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, and to the house of the God of Jacob; and he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths: for the law shall go forth of Zion, and the word of the LORD from Jerusalem." (Micah 4:2, KJV)

I've bought several copies of a book several times. But surprisingly, to this day, I've never read it in one sitting. Every time I buy it, the HOLY SPIRIT asks me to give it to someone. The time before last, I'd just come out of the bookshop, when he asked me to give it to someone. I had recently bought five copies online, intending to keep one for myself. Apparently, I'd achieved my goal. I had one copy. The HOLY SPIRIT had not asked me to give it away, nor to put it in a book box.

Two weeks ago, I went to the supermarket to do my shopping. Usually, my groceries are delivered within three hours. But there was so much shopping to be done that day that I was notified that my groceries would be delivered in the early evening. Back at home, I felt the urge to read a book: this famous book. I was looking forward to finally finishing it.

Back home, the LORD said to me, “I want you to give it to the person who will deliver your groceries.”

I replied : "Again! There are books in the stock of Partage Ton Rhema, this one I bought with my personal money, not the one of the association. Can't I have it? I also need to feed myself. Could you care about me as much as you care about them? Can't we wait until I buy more copies? "

In response, the LORD asked me to read the ninth chapter of the book. He specifically said, “Your bread is in the ninth chapter.” I actually received a rhema word while reading this chapter. I should point out that the rhema word did not concern the present situation.

When the delivery man arrived, I noticed some items were missing, but I didn't know which ones. I said to the driver, "Are you sure everything is here? I feel like something's missing." He replied that was all he had.

After he left, I realized that I had saddened the HOLY SPIRIT. It's a feeling I wouldn't wish on anyone. I asked the LORD for forgiveness, but my soul wasn't happy at the idea of giving this book away. I remembered the father of a child who one day said to JESUS, “I believe, [LORD,] come to the rescue of my unbelief!” ( Mark 9:24) I said to the HOLY SPIRIT, " Please, give me a word. Help me. You love those who give with joy and not with complaint." He replied, "He needs it more than you do."

Five minutes later, the delivery man came back with two packages. Sure enough, something was missing the first time. I asked him to choose one book out of four, three of which were in English. Unsurprisingly, he chose the book that GOD had asked me to give him 🙂 Ah, the joy that filled my heart is indescribable! For several minutes, I kept saying Thank you, HOLY SPIRIT! You are wonderful!

I know that GOD loves me. I know that he loves all men (including women) with an eternal, equal, true, sincere, and responsible love. We have only one creator, and JESUS gave himself for the salvation of all. GOD loves us all, but he is not in communion with everyone. He does not impose himself. Not everyone will be saved because not everyone will choose JESUS.

I should have asked for a note from the beginning and not waited for the deliveryman to leave. It was important to GOD that this gentleman received this book. What would have happened if I hadn't repented? If I had kept the book? Circumstances allowed this man to return to deliver the forgotten packages, but this was not guaranteed. The two forgotten packages could have been delivered elsewhere or by someone else. I know how books can change lives. I'm a testament to that, and the association Partage ton Rhema is a fruit of that.

My first reaction was carnal, selfish, and self-centered. I hope I never react like that again. The second is the one I will keep and encourage us to cultivate. When GOD asks us to do something that seems difficult or unfair, let us ask Him for help. It is 1,000 times better to ask Him for a word than to try to argue. GOD no longer has to prove that He loves us. He has already done it, and He reminds us of it every day.

When He asks us to give, it is because someone needs it more than we do and He will provide, or fill the usefulness of that thing in our lives. GOD didn't tell me anything about this man's life. I may never see him again. I don't even know if he is a Christian. But I know that he didn't receive this book in vain. He needed it. This is the word I encourage you to meditate on, the day you find yourself in a similar situation. GOD asks you to give because someone needs it more than you. When your flesh gives you excuses, ask GOD for a word. Don't be afraid to ask GOD questions. When you are in distress, ask GOD for a word. If you have a difficult choice to make, ask GOD for a word.

I prayed this prayer several times in 2015 when I was depressed, after the death of one of my little brothers: " LORD, give me a word. Just a word, to hold on until tomorrow." You can pray the same prayer and go deeper with your own words. You can do it while singing. You can do it silently, in your heart. You can do it in tongues. You can do it while crying. GOD will answer you.

Have a pleasant week in CHRIST!
