Reverse suicidal thoughts: good companies

Leu-hor victory! May an angel pour oil of joy on your head. The best version of you makes you better, if not helps make your relationships, home, projects, businesses, community and nation better. Never forget that GOD lets himself be found by those who seek him with a sincere heart (Jeremiah 29:13, Psalms 91:14-16). Those who seek him and not just his favors. We go from glory to glory, but the world goes from bad to worse (2 Corinthians 3:18, 2 Timothy 3:1). Change is a constant; we either anticipate it, adapt to it, or undergo it. You were fought by those who didn't anticipate change. You will be envied by those who will undergo it. It's time to write the next chapter of your life with GOD. You're almost there, hold on tight.

" And the LORD, he it is that doth go before thee; he will be with thee, he will not fail thee, neither forsake thee: fear not, neither be dismayed." (Deuteronomy 31:8, KJV)

" Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name. He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him. With long life will I satisfy him, and shew him my salvation." (Psalms 91:14-16, KJV)

" He that walketh with wise men shall be wise: but a companion of fools shall be destroyed." (Proverbs 13:20, KJV)

" The words of the wise are as goads, and as nails fastened by the masters of assemblies, which are given from one shepherd." (Ecclésiaste 12:11, Segond 21)

Yes, my soul, rest on GOD, for from him comes my hope. Yes, he is my rock and my salvation, my fortress: I shall not be shaken. On GOD rest my salvation and my glory; the rock of my strength, my refuge, is in GOD. At all times, peoples, trust in him, pour out your hearts before him! GOD is our refuge. (Psalm 62:6-9, Segond 21, french version of KJV)

It will always be good to have good company. Introverts prefer inner reflection to social interaction. Two traits commonly observed in introverts are their ability to analyze their own feelings and their need for solitude to recharge their batteries. Extroverts prefer social interaction to inner reflection. Two common traits in extroverts are spontaneity and a liking for group activities. By dwelling on them, introverts can mentally amplify problems. Because of their need for interaction, extroverts may trivialize problems or underestimate the personal commitment required to solve them.

As much as it depends on us, GOD asks us to be at peace with everyone (Romans 12:18). He is also the one who asks us to walk with the wise, to keep away from bad company and to be good company ourselves. Our relationships and companies influence us.

You can have good relations with everyone. But you can't be a good company for everyone. Companies are people we spend time with all the time, whether face-to-face or remote. Bad companies are people we should avoid spending time with. Their attitudes, habits and words influence us negatively, or could influence us negatively. Bad company isn't always bad people. Sometimes, they are people who are temporarily, for us, bad in a particular context or season of our lives. I personally believe that knowing how to define your relationships is a sign of maturity. In some cases, a sign of soul healing.

Let's read a few verses :

He that walketh with wise men shall be wise: but a companion of fools shall be destroyed. (Proverbs 13:20, KJV)

Do not be deceived: “Evil company corrupts good habits.” (1 Corinthians 15:33, NKJV)

The words of the wise are like goads, and the words of scholars are like well-driven nails, given by one Shepherd. (Ecclésiaste 12:11, NKJV)

It says the words of wise men, not the words of a wise man. There are different ways of acquiring wisdom. Good company is one of them. What applies to wisdom also applies to other subjects. In short, we need to surround ourselves with, or spend time with, people who have a good influence on our life. People who share our values. People we recognize ourselves in, or would like to be like. People who don't have the same weaknesses as we do. People for whom we can set a good example without this having a negative influence on us (pride, superiority complex, false modesty, need to impress). People with whom we can have edifying discussions and quality moments. People through whom GOD can save us. If need be, through whom he can save us from ourselves.

It is out of the abundance of the heart that the mouth speaks (Luke 6:45). If we spend our time with people whose hearts are filled with faith, joy, determination, love, perseverance, peace, gratitude, wisdom, consolation, we will receive words imbued with these things.

🙂 Dear introvert, I'm not saying that you should spend all your time around people. Nor that you should talk about your life or your problems to others. It's important to realize that internal reflection is no substitute for social interaction. It's good to have hobbies and quality time with our loved ones (family and friends). It's just a question of finding the right balance and taking advantage of the things we have in common. Sometimes, it's not so much the discussion that's important, but the fact that you can get out of the bubble of negative thoughts. So that you realize, gradually, that your life isn't limited to your past, your problems, your uncertainties, your trauma and so on. Why don't you start by looking at testimonials from Christians who have turned their suicidal thoughts around?

🙂 Dear extrovert, denying a problem won't make it go away. It's good to spend time with loved ones and participate in many activities. But don't think that divine principles can be replaced. As important as fellowship is, it will never, ever replace the Word and personal communion with the HOLY SPIRIT. You'll spend less time in inner reflection than an introvert. But you'll still have to take the time to reflect. Becoming a Christian isn't about joining a religion. It's about entering into a personal relationship with GOD.

You are my hiding place; You shall preserve me from trouble; You shall surround me with songs of deliverance. Selah I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will guide you with My eye. (Psalms 32:7-8, NKJV)

For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end. Then shall ye call upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto me, and I will hearken unto you. And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart. (Jeremiah 29:11-13, KJV)

And the LORD, He is the One who goes before you. He will be with you, He will not leave you nor forsake you; do not fear nor be dismayed.. (Deuteronomy 31:8, NKJV)

GOD speaks to you through songs: the ones he inspires and the ones he brings to your ears. What songs are you listening to? Songs of deliverance or songs of condemnation? GOD is committed to walking with you. Trust him. He never lies. JESUS gave himself for you. He's already proved he loves you. He's risen and he's LORD, nothing is impossible for him 🙂 In him, you have 1001 reasons to live. I repeat, you have 1001 reasons to live. I tell you again, you have 1001 reasons to live. Live! Live in CHRIST, through CHRIST and for CHRIST! Live!
