Guten Morgen heir! Agnioh excellence! Do not let excitement draw you into battles for which GOD has not anointed you. Don't let lust make you accept gifts, offerings, opportunities, invitations and collaborations that GOD has not sent you.
"Blessed is the man Who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, Nor stands in the path of sinners, Nor sits in the seat of the scornful; But his delight is in the law [Towrah, Strong n°8451, Hebrew] of the LORD, And in His law he meditates day and night. He shall be like a tree Planted by the rivers of water, That brings forth its fruit in its season, Whose leaf also shall not wither; And whatever he does shall prosper. (Psalm1:1-3, NKJV)
“ I still have many things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now. However, when He, the Spirit of truth (the HOLY SPIRIT), has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come. He will glorify Me, for He will take of what is Mine and declare it to you. All things that the Father has are Mine. Therefore I said that He will take of Mine and declare it to you." (John 16: 12-15, NKJV)
GOD's Word is precious. It's important to know it, understand it, declare it, meditate on it, study it, and apply it. Through his Word, GOD speaks to us, instructs us, guides us, heals us, corrects us, delivers us, encourages us, and enlightens us. His Word is one of the ways he makes us better people (2 Timothy 3:16-17, Psalms 1:1-3, Psalms 36:10, Matthew 4:4, John 8:31-32, Psalms 119:105, John 16:12-15, Psalms 107:20, Psalms 119:130).
By reading and listening to the Bible, we receive knowledge. Studying enables us to understand. Meditating enables us to apply the Word. The Word we meditate on takes root in us. The Word we study renews our thoughts and our intelligence. The Word we meditate on nourishes our spirit heals our soul, disposes our heart, enables us to apply it, and gives us a personal and contextual revelation to our life or situation.
The word we study increases our intelligence. The word we meditate on increases our wisdom. Intelligence is the ability to acquire and apply knowledge. Wisdom is knowing when and how to apply it: the ability to discern what is appropriate, right, and true.
So we can obey the Word, engage the Word, experience the Word, and witness to the Word. First, we must believe and understand. For, we can't believe in what we don't know. And you can't have a true and complete understanding of what you haven't studied. GOD doesn't impose himself on us. He lets himself be found by those who seek him. He gives the revelation of his word to those who consider his word, those who thirst for his word, and those who wish to know, understand, and apply his word.
" But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to GOD must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him." (Hebrews 11:6, NKJV).
" Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen." (Hebrews 11:1, NKJV).
Faith is the product of three factors: knowing, believing and trusting. Knowledge comes first. You've either seen it, read it or heard it. Then you have to believe in what you know. Then comes trust and obedience. "How then will they call upon him in whom they have not believed? And how will they believe in him of whom they have not heard? And how will they hear of him, if there is no one who preaches?" (Romans 10:14) "For faith comes from what one hears, and what one hears comes from the word of CHRIST" (Romans 10:17).
To study is to acquire knowledge about a subject to understand it. To study, for example, is to research, to identify sources, consequences, and benefits or to understand how something works. It also means taking a course of instruction to acquire knowledge in a specific field. Teaching can be face-to-face, remote, by video, or by book.
To meditate is to think at length about a subject, to repeat a word to oneself, to subject oneself to long and deep reflection. Meditation is based on reading and listening to the Word. To meditate is to allow GOD to give us a word through his Word. We can meditate by listening to the Word. For example, by repeatedly listening to a chapter of the Bible, or by asking questions of the HOLY SPIRIT.
In this verse, the word translated as law is the Hebrew word Towrah (Strong's no. 8451). Meaning instruction, commandment, custom, manner, law, and Mosaic or Mosaic law. The Mosaic Law is the set of commandments, laws, and recommendations given by GOD to the Jewish people through Moses.
Paraphrasing this verse, we could say: "He who loves / delights in / habitually studies / is rooted in the LORD's instructions and meditates on them day and night / in all circumstances / whatever the seasons, is like a tree planted by a stream: it bears its fruit in its season (at maturity) and its foliage does not wither. Everything he does succeeds / prospers / grows / develops / is without regret.
Satan knows the Scriptures. He will always try to distort, dilute, and divert the Scriptures. He will try to get us to separate a word from its context. He spreads false teachings and inspires false prophets. By studying and meditating on GOD's Word, we can avoid and rise above the devil's traps.
In this verse, JESUS tells us that he has many things to say to us, but only gradually can we understand and apply them, with the help of the HOLY SPIRIT. For no one can understand GOD, without GOD's help 🙂 What wonderful news! How good it is to know! It's not a question of age! We don't have to wonder if we're smart enough to understand GOD's Word! Isn't it wonderful? We simply have to ask GOD to help us and get started! One verse after another, and so on. You can start today. You can even start by reading Bible stories! Go for it!
Suggestion: "And do not be conformed to this world; but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may discern what is the good and acceptable and perfect will of GOD." (Romans 12:2, Darby)
